CSK had me believing with Lee the first few games. Does CSK deserve the credit? Look at his stats:

Opponent Comp/Att yds TD Int
Oregon 10/22 98 1 0
Northwestern 9/10 133 1 0
Miss St 21/27 213 1 1
West Virginia 16/28 180 3 0
Kentucky 8/21 169 1 0
Florida 7/10 154 1 0

Those are good stats and show no weakness. LSU had no passing game for 3-4 yrs prior. I dunno why CLM benched him.

BTW, I found this little research note on the Florida game from ESPN. I thought you guys might find it interesting.

"Jarrett Lee played another mistake free game as LSU rolled. Hopefully this will end the Jordan Jefferson chatter. Through 6 games, Lee has been far superior to Jefferson at this same point last season. More importantly, LSU has looked much better. While both teams started 6-0, last year's LSU team already had 4 wins by one score of fewer at this same point while averaging nearly 13 points per game fewer than this year's edition."

I think the whole, we should have kept Lee in the whole time is overblown. While I agree, if we kept him the entire year, we probably would have lost to Bama the first, time but would have had more motivation the second time around.

But I guarantee if Lee had stayed in the whole Bama game, everyone would have been calling for his head and JJ would have started soon thereafter anyway.

even if he led us to the 1 scoring drive we needed to beat them?

Because you can bet if Bama let RS get wide open as they did with JJ, that play is the winning TD with Lee

It's been nearly a week since the NC game and the end of both Jefferson and Lee. Can we please move on with our lives and stop bitching about what could have been and focus on what will be.

arguably the biggest due to it being Bama for the NC.

we will never know if Lee was the answer- oh by the way we had Mett on the sidelines also- I bet next year you will be asking yourself why he did not get a shot in the game

The QB situation was handled correctly thru the first bama game. The problem(s) occurred with the offense after JJ was made the permanent starter with Lee hardly seeing the field. LSU became one-dimensional.

if lee didnt have to worry about being yanked for jj he probably would of played better but we'll never know the answer to that either...

Negative. I don't let my hate for another player or the head coach cloud my judgement.

JJ and JL have different skill sets. If Les genuinely thought JJ fits best for what he wanted to do on O so be it. I’m ok with that. (BTW, maybe this won’t resonate with anyone but Les doesn’t get enough credit for integrating game plans. He whiffed last Monday but for the most part he does a good job at this.)

What is mystifying is that Les would take the O used for the better part of 8 games (and which was improving and expanding) and shelve it. JL had some really bad series vs Bama. Good QB’s making bad throws happens in almost every game (Flynn threw ints on three consecutive possessions vs Bama in ’07. I think Tebow threw two ints vs OU in the BCSCG in ’09). But they recover and make some good plays. Maintaining that capability wasn’t good just for JL. It was good for JJ and for LSU.

I really wasn't trying to keep the controversy alive.

I was asking if any LSU fans thought Kragthorpe was the answer to your weak QB play. He did a great job with Lee, hence the stats I listed. Sorry for this insult but I didn't think you had a chance to improve QB play this past year. But Lee was definitely better. This is a HUGE future question for LSU football. If CSK can improve your QB play (he needs to have CLM trust him) then LSU may be unbeatable next year. And if you are I wouldn't give all the credit to Mett or Kiel. You can't come into the SEC and just start playing great. Unless you are Cam friggin Newton you need great coaching. I think CSK could be the real deal. What say you cajuns?
