Anybody know a good way to take in Knoxville trip?
Downtown hotels are a lot more expensive, but if it's a must to make the trip I'm going to spend the money. Don't really know the differences of the other areas, I know players are staying by airport. Just wanted to know some other experiences out there from a Knoxville trip, looking forward to it this year

I recently stayed in Maryville/Alcoa for a business trip. We flew into the Knoxville airport and our hotel was around 5 minutes away from the airport. I'm not sure how close this is to campus/stadium, but it may be an option to consider. I'm guessing the hotels (if available) are much cheaper.

The Alumni Association/TAF is staying at the Knoxville Marriott. Very Nice hotel

Campus is pretty close to downtown Knoxville. Alcoa is out by the airport, which is southwest of Knoxville about 30 mins out. Downtown is fairly clean with a few bars, but not much to do. A lot like Baton Rouge's downtown. A couple of bars, but not much.

There is a new Hampton Inn very close to the campus, very good location just off Henley street. Hilton Downtown or the Marriott are other options. Other choices would be west of town near Ceadar Bluff Parkway or the Turkey creek shopping center. Look for 37922; 37923 zip codes. Try to avoid North or East Knoxville. The west side is best, it has lots of resturants and Bars in those locations. We will try to get a central location as a Friday night hang out for Tiger fans

yea, book your hotels a year in advance. Same goes for any other SEC road trip.

Still a lot of hotels in Knoxville,
it sure doesn't seem like Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Oxford, which are impossible to get a hotel in
