Simmons: 6/13 shooting, 9/11 free throws. 21 Pts, 19 Reb, 7 Ast

Quarterman: 6/12 shooting, 4/9 free throws. 20 Pts, 6 Reb, 3 Ast

Sampson: 4/12 shooting. 10 Pts, 1 Reb, 0 Ast

Blakeney: 5/13 shooting, 4/4 free throws. 14 Pts. 5 Reb. 0 Ast

Patterson: 2/6 shooting. 6 Pts, 2 Reb, 2 Ast, 3 Stl

Gray: 2/7 shooting, 1/2 free throws. 5 Pts, 1 Reb, 0 Ast, 2 Stl

Little unnerving to me that our 6 guys we can depend on to score shot 25/63 (Just 39%). Not to mention 18/26 on free throws (69%).

And above that, we only had 12 Assists, 7 of which coming from the big man. That means that on over half of our made baskets, it was 1 on 1 with little or no ball movement. And most of those assists came on fast breaks.

Our 2 Centers and 3 Forwards combined for 25 Points and 21 Rebounds. Simmons was 21 of those points and 19 of those rebounds. That means that our other 4 "bigs" are completely useless.

Marquette's 2 Centers and 2 Forwards combined for 42 Points and 23 Rebounds.

Long story short, if LSU doesn't come up with a post presence not only for defense, but to take some of the offensive pressure off of our guards when they are struggling (like tonight), we will not make a deep run anywhere.

I think we'll win a tournament game this year, but not expecting much more.

Those guys were in foul trouble the whole 2nd half. Benshould have been driving the ball at them the whole 2nd half. Horrible coaching by not telling guys to go at them.

Inside defense is horrible. Hopefully victor and hornsby will help fix this.

Coaching wasn't great but its not "Fire Jones" levels yet. He definitely should have had a bit more situational awareness on that last possession and drew something up. Or at least got organized.

All of that will change when Hornsby comes back to play 30 mins a game. Victor's garbage pts will upset that equation as well. This is far from the finished product.

Absolutely not. Johnny Jones is a good coach and the right coach for LSU, but that was pathetic coaching tonight by not going at those two guys.

Nothing wrong with that approach, but it will change after a few more games.

Simmons is too unselfish. He needs to take over. He shoots FT's well enough to be aggressive late in the game.
