I don't know why we don't redshirt these type guys.

Les's philosophy when it comes to redshirting is if they are good enough to play, even if it is just special teams, as a freshman then you more than likely won't have them for 4 or 5 years anyway. Michael Brockers burned them on this and they changed their philosophy almost immediately.

Why would Derrick Dillion leave, he redshirted Lat year and is blazing fast?

every kid at LSU had impressive HS film. Doesnt mean it always converts to SEC play. That's pretty obvious

He had great HS film. Thought he'd be a contribution. Good luck Mr. Spears

Well you take out James, because either he's a walk-on, or he really doesn't factor in unless emergency. Also, if Coxie gets his stuff in order, that will be another giving you 10 WRs with only 3 eligible to be drafted. Everything else seems straight thought. That leaves you with seven 4 star WRs and two 5 star WRs.

I'm ready to see what Chark, Dillon, and Davis can do.

He is just one of those types of players, short and fast, that we never really seem to utilize

We get them all the time and I have yet to see one really work out under Miles

What the hell? He's not much shorter than Landry or Beckham if he even is at all. The guy is 5'10-5'11 with better agility than Jarvis Landry. He is also pretty fast. He had to redshirt to add weight, work on being a WR because he played QB in high school, and the depth chart was ridiculous.

Trindon had very very poor lateral speed. He was a track athlete playing football. This is a real football player right here.

I don't like calling out possible players by name that haven't left yet and may not. Some may never contribute at LSU but they still work hard in practice and will forever be Tigers in my mind.

However, by position group, I see 1 and maybe 3 on the DL, perhaps 1 or 2 at LB, 1 or 2 at DB. Possibly 1 TE, 1 to 3 at OL, perhaps 1 at QB, and 1 at FB. All these guys are going into their 3rd or more years and have no significant snaps.

If they want to play, you cannot blame them for leaving. Some will stay and some will leave, but the percentages are rare that they will make significant contributions on the field for LSU. Same thing happens in every program.

Hate seeing him go. Was really excited about him comin out of high school. Didn't start playing ball til his JR year of high school and blew up his senior year.

Best of luck and hope it all works out well for him.

All of this. I thought we had found a hidden gem. He had a story similar to Mike Evans of TAMU.

Will this thread reach 10 pages like the Trey Quinn thread?

Unless Gage likes only having a chance to play ST he will leave,

After watching him get burned about 5,000 times in the Spring Game last year, I wouldn't expect him to ever see meaningful mins in an SEC secondary.

Was so fired up for him when he signed. I'm worried about him transferring. Battle too.

Completely wasted a year on Chark. Hard to believe he is already going to be a junior. I hope we see him pan out this season

True.

But it's too early for Dillon to be evaluated...much less transfer.
