Chiefs & Tiger fan here. I love our boys coming to Arrowhead-the closest thing in the NFL to Death Valley (when they are good...). I've got confidence Bowe, Dorsey, & Jackson will shine with overall team improvement under Pioli, Haley, Weiss, & Crennel. As far as this years Tigers, I'd love for Lafell to come to KC. First round, I want Berry at #5. Read the article if you want to get pissed off out outsiders perspective of LSU football...

Below are a few quotes from the article about what NFL scouts etc. think about the way Leslie runs his program.

quote:

Word has been out there that the guys aren’t working real hard,” said Chris Landry, a former NFL scout who now works as a consultant for nearly a dozen teams. “It’s been talked among scouting circles for a while. It’s more: Buyer beware."

quote:

“It gives (LSU) a bad image. It gives it an attitude of just: ‘What the hell is going on over there?’ ”

quote:

He said LSU’s coaches failed to push those players, and as a result, they adopted poor approaches as acceptable

quote:

The program has slipped from a discipline and work-ethic standpoint,” Landry said. “They’re not nearly as demanding on them.”

Brutal, but apparently NFL people think what many of us have suspected about Les all along.

That's kind of chickenshit. KC shouldn't have drafted TJ so high, that's their fault for crappy evaluation not LSU's and it's a little early to make a call on him. They're also playing Glenn out of position. Bowe hasn't been a bust at all he's been by far the best thing on that crappy offense.

Will not succeed in KC in that 3-4 scheme no matter how good he is.

And it says Bowe's hands weren't improving at from junior to senior year, that's just a fricking lie.

Bowe might be there best offensive player. Dorsey is not a 3-4 DE and Tyson should not have been drafted that high. They are retarded.

It is a shame that journalists today don't disclose pertinent and relevant information to their readers.

quote:

Prior to entering the NFL, Landry served on the LSU coaching staff in the mid to late 1980's.

This is part of former scout Chris Landry's bio. He is prominently named in the Kansas City Scar's story.

You think his association with the failed coaching staff of Mike Archer and that coaching staff contentious departure has made him bitter towards LSU?

This is the university the Kansas City Scar columnist attended. You think the fact that he went to a rival SEC school that has historically been owned by LSU has given him have a negative attitude of LSU and the LSU football program?

Not so sure about that since we don't play USCe that often.

I thought the only reason we won the NC in '07 is because of what Saban turned these guys into in the brief time he coached them?

I hate how people on the rant assume an agenda. I just think this confirms that fans and scouts fear the same things about Les.

I think this reflects in Tigers' poor recent showings at the combine. They are not working for it as much as they used to.

Seems I remember a write in the '09 Advocate that accused him of working them too hard and he should back off. Or maybe it was Miles being quoted?

Nope, name any player under Saban who had a better predraft workout performance than Landry, Addai, or Russell. Hell Tyson Jackson somehow moved himself all the way up to the 3rd pick with his predraft performance.

The Star just sucks, always has, always will, regardless of anything to do with LSU. The real culprit in KC is Herm Erwards. He did more damage to Dorsey's career than people realize. From Day 1 he tried to change Glenn's game from being a penetrator and disruptor to some kind of space eater. Agree about Jackson being picked too high and about Bowe being the best offensive player.

edt: it isn't just LSU players who are "disappointments" on the Griefs. Hmm might there be a common element here? Oh yeah, the sucking Griefs organization.
