Pretty sure they aren't supposed to do this.

Wait till we hit the stretch of Ole miss, Ark,Bama and A&M. The romance will fade. I wanted Les gone but I respect what he did. Some of the talking heads on 104.5 are disgusting the way they make it sound like Les never had a winning season. Masconna esp, guy never played a single down of football

If the players paid for their own meals I don't see how they did anything wrong.

The NCAA changed the food rule back in 2014. This is well within bounds.

quote:

-Any meal plan available to all students
-One training table meal per day, which comes out of the scholarship
-Food provided at the institution’s discretion starting with dinner the night before a home game, plus an extra meal after the game
-Either food provided at the institution’s discretion or per diem for three meals per day on a road trip, plus a pre- or postgame meal
-Three meals per day or per diem when athletes are required to remain on campus during vacation periods
-Additional meals at the institution’s discretion to meet nutritional needs
-Nutritional supplements including energy bars and carbohydrate boosters
-Any type of snack.

Bolded lines indicate rules which could be construed to cover this meal.

Note especially "Additional meals at the institution’s discretion to meet nutritional needs."

This essentially gives the institution the ability to give as much food to players as often as they choose, as long as it falls under "nutritional needs."

Which... is basically every meal every day.

Good grief at some ppl on here.

Pretty sure Coach O and the rest of the staff had a better grasp on NCAA rules than us on this board. Not to mention, we have a NCAA compliance officer that would have signed off on it.

Nothing to worry about!

With how tight-assed the LSU compliance office is...I am CERTAIN this isn't even close to any violation.

I love the idea.

This has been a big week for change, etc. These guys have had a lot of adjusting to do. Creating, or at least improving, the sense of "team" and closeness is great
