i have no idea where you went with this. im guessing you have some type of love affair for men with mustaches but i have no idea who McCartney is or why him or his facial hair should play linebacker. if you could clear up my confusion it would be much appreciated.

Actually, McRay was a terrific free safety. Glenn Dorsey even said he was one of LSU's best defensive guys (this in 2007).

McRay was a horrible choice at nickelback and that issue arose when Malveto was in charge in '08. Nickels need to be just as good of athletes as corners and Randall Gay was a great one. I have no idea why Malveto and Miles allowed McRay to be abused there. Imagine Chris Carrier or LaRon Landry playing man to man 90 percent of the game. FS's do not equate into good nickels - usually CB's do. McCray sucked as a NB, but was a very solid FS. It was a position thing. If he sucked that badly, overall, then he wouldn't be in the NFL.

Hatcher could add some depth at LB or S. Doubt he starts anywhere.

I would venture a guess that you are correct. Reid and Taylor will be the starters next season barring further injury and Loston will be the third guy IMO.

yes, because he made a huge hit in a high school All-Star game 2 years ago

I heard Cooper talking about Loston during a pregame interview this year, and he indicated they were somewhat disappointed in his mental progression, and that was the only reason he wasn't on the field more. I think it's pretty telling that a true freshman in Reid came in and clearly passed Loston up.

Loston has all the tools to be great--and I think he will be--it's just going to take longer than the recruitnics who have been swinging from his nutsack for 3 year believed.

Both Loston and Reid were playing in the Cotton Bowl.. together... on the same field.. Loston was playing SS and Reid FS.. or the other way around. Ballhawks.

People seem to not notice he lead the team in tackles in a few games this past season. He got burnt every so often but he was a pretty good player. That being said .... I do believe he would be a great LB.

Karnell Hatcher Bio

Release: 12/22/2010
JUNIOR SEASON (2010)
Played in 11 games with 10 starts ... Missed the game against North Carolina and did not start versus Vanderbilt ... Third on the team in tackles with 63 ... Led LSU in tackles at Arkansas and tied his career high for the second straight week with 10 stops ... Posted 10 tackles against Ole Miss and racked up a career-best 1.5 TFLs ... Posted nine tackles - six solo - and forced a fumble versus Alabama ... Recorded seven tackles, six solo, and one PBU against Auburn ... Tallied one PBU against West Virginia ... Has seen valuable experience at safety throughout his career and is known for his run stopping ability

Not too shabby ... IMHO ... one game does not a career make or break for that matter .

Taylor is a two year starter. Loston and Reid are both really young with tremendous upside. Hatcher is a solid safety when we are plain run teams, and he has serious experience.

We're sitting in a great in the db department.

Taylor is an integral part of our pass D. Best coverage S on the team

I agree that he is important to the D, but I think Reid is our best cover Safety

Loston is the worst at taking good angles. He runs himself out of plays often. If he learns to take better angles, he will be a monster in thàt backfield.
