2003 probably not. Because Saban would not have come and then 2007 Would not have happened. You can't look back say "what coulda been". The Bear had 5 more year in Bama. What if the Bear had not retired in 85 would he have lived longer. You just can't assume he was the Coach that would have made LSU great.

I remember when they reported his death on the news. It was a very sad time for LSU and for his family.

I remember living on campus and had my window open. I remember it as a cloudy dark day and looking out thinking how terrible that death must have been.

He actually signed me in 1980 and was gone less then a week later . Was a heck of a guy ...

Bear Bryant's last year to coach was 1982. He retired and then died in Jan 1983.
