What happens if ND gets blown out by USC.
Bama, Florida, A&M, UGA, and LSU all win big going in to championship week, and K-State and Oregon lose this week. Leaving a top 5 of Bama, UGA, Florida, ND/LSU, A&M. UGA loses to Bama, leaving a top 4 of Bama, ND/Florida, and LSU at 4. Do we still get into a BCS game by way of the top 4 gaurantee??

Only 2 teams per conference can go to a BCS game.

So you're saying Florida beats FSU?

If that happens, we won't get a BCS bowl.

It really hinges on FSU beating Florida.

Because of what ^he said.

FSU beats Florida:

BCSCG-Bama/UGA
Sugar-LSU
Cap1-Bama/UGA
Cotton-A&M
Outback-Florida
CFA-USC

Florida beats FSU:

BCSCG-Bama/UGA
Sugar-Florida
Cap1-Bama/UGA
Cotton-A&M/LSU
Outback-A&M/LSU
CFA-USC

Who is the opponent in this game since ND got blown out by USC in his scenario? would be the number 2 team which would be UF should they beat FSU. However LSU would be at #4 (assuming UO and KS lose) meaning they are guaranteed a spot in the BCS but there are already two teams in the BCS from the SEC. This is where I think his question is.

Unless the conference has the #1. & #2 teams and neither won the conference

If ND loses to USC, they could really drop. Probably not out of the top 10 but they will have lost to an unranked team on the road. They've been walking that line all season with the exception of the OU game.

Not sure who would play the winner of the Bama/UGA game. Still have conference championship games to play so as of right now, it's hard to say.

I'd be happy with us going to the Sugar.

i know the 2 teams per conference but does the top 4 auto berth trump that? i'm sure when the bcs was created they never thought one conference would have 3 or possibly 4 of the top 4
