I am excited about the defense, but we had an incredible defense in 2011 and Les still managed to screw it up.

The problem was that we had to play Bama twice which was like overkill. I mean nobody since has held teams under an average of 10 points per game (Bama 8.2). Nobody since has been able to hold teams under and average of 250 yards per game (Bama 183.6). I mean I don't think you guys realize just how ridiculous that 2011 Bama defense was...and we had to play it TWICE!!!! And while the site I was using doesn't go back further than 2008, no other team has allowed under 9 ppg or 217 yards per game.

Other thing of note:

We didn't have anybody close to a Fournette or Guice at RB. We ran by committe and had 2836 yards, 4.8 ypc, 35 TDs in 14 games. This year we had 3086 yards, 6.10 ypc, and 36 TDs in 12 games.

2011 (14 games) - 5 RBs accounted for 471 car 2471 yards (5.25 ypc) 31 TDs
2015 (12 games) - 2 RBs 351 car 2389 yards (6.8 ypc) 25 TDs, 3 RBs 411 car 2685 yards (6.53 ypc) 29 TDs

Will you want to keep him if he's not in a New Years 6 bowl game?

Well that depends... 10-2 may not get them in one.. I hope it would.. But I can live with 10-2 as long as the losses were close...

Huge not having a bunch of juniors leave early, expectations will be sky high!

The value of Senior leadership cannot be overstated. This is a huge coup for LSU. Hopefully, we see the improvement from Harris that we need to see and the offense can loosen the reigns a bit. As some others have said, I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

I'm assuming those 2 losses are to Ole Miss and Bama which are both in Baton Rouge.

Probably higher than should be expected.
LSU should be very good, it just depend on QB play and a little luck.

Having Bama at home is HUGE for us, they are the only hurdle IMO.

We beat Bama then we are set.

I like that we get Ole Miss in October. They'll be on the road at Arky the week before.

LSU is freaking loaded!

Yes they are... NOW if we can just put it all together... This team could be as good as 2011......Not so much on D but we should make up for it on offense... This offense could be very special.....

wrong on both points. Bama is our biggest hurdle, but far from our only one.

And home field doesn't mean much between LSU and Bama. In the last 15 games (not counting the NC game in New Orleans), the home team has won only 6 times.

LSU has won 8 times over that span (3 at home and 5 in Tuscaloosa).

Bama has won 7 times (3 at home and 4 in Baton Rouge).

This simplistic analysis totally overlooks the fact that over the the last four years, the games in Tiger Stadium have been consistently close, while the losses in Tuscaloosa have been blowouts. In fact, going back to 2008, all of the home games with Bama have been tightly contested. Of course it's an advantage to play Bama in DV.

SEC Championship at a minimum. The stars are aligned and if Les can't win with this bunch, then he simply doesn't possess the capability to anymore.

I agree. LSU has not won the SEC but one time in nine years...I mean, this is a fair expectation IMO.

Im personally really excited to have all of these veterans and experience come back.

We just need to stay healthy throughout spring ball and over the summer

and I certainly hope the focus is there to avoid off the field issues.

We got the guys we wanted to stay, we have a stellar recruiting class coming in, the next battle is just staying healthy and out of trouble.

I see 2016 LSU beating every team save for Bama.

It may be good enough to get into the playoffs, but unlikely.

I've got a reservation for two to the Sugar Bowl next year baws.

12-1 will be awesome!!!
