I know his numbers weren't good, and he was off target on a few passes, but I think with PT and him getting comfortable he will be good.

There are many positives I saw that I don't see in Lee.
He did not stare down his WR. He checked at least 2 reads and if nothing was there he took off. He's not sailing his passes, this is huge b/c if you Remeber JR would do the same thing and he became very acurate. A lot of Lee's picks have come from balls sailing. I'm not ready to crown him the starter, but I see some promise.

You have to understand, this was his first real PT and he was jittery and nervous as hell. I think with Playing time when he can get a little more comfortable, he will be good and will push for the job next year. I hope to see him get more meaningfull snaps in the next 2 games.

Even though I agree with this, I thought he still looked like a deer in headlights. Several of his passes were 10 yards from the nearest receiver. He looked horrible out there. I'm not saying that I could do better, I'm just saying I felt a lot more comfortable with Lee in the game after watching what Jefferson "can do".

I know now why Miles didn't feel right putting JJ into a game before unless it was to hand the ball off.

I agree. If we can bring him along a little more gradually, I think he'll do great. One thing people forget is that Lee got hurled into the thick of things being really green. It will either make him a strong, smart SOB or break him. That is a tough thing to do to a kid.

only the worms had chances of catching his passes. They all (but one) went straight into the ground.

They both contributed to the win, but Lee is ahead of JJ right now, IMO.

I feel like I wrote this after watching the game. I see now why they didn't want to put him in against Bama. He wasn't even close on his incompletions and he is clearly not ready.

jefferson, if coached RIGHT, will be a asset to the team.

He can throw, but it was his first game doing so, and it looked like he had a little bit of the jitters.

the good passes he did throw that were catchable, were dropped.

the receivers didn't help himi out all that much.

bottom line is jefferson will get better, and hopefully so will lee. I'd like to see jefferson run the option, and not just the QB scramble.

JJ and KW/RM is going to be fun to watch

I agree that he can throw, but you are not basing this on anything you've seen from him on the field.

The most popular guy in town, the backup. JJ is no where near as ready as JL, sorry guys. Next year if Lee is still doing shitty then maybe they can put him in. Its not like Lee was "ready" to be the starter this year either and i do really think he will be better next year.

I never said "start" jefferson, for one thing.

but he needs playing time, and is a threat in the redzone.

he needs to be used on the option plays crowton has in his playbook. and let him throw once or twice a half.

there. that's your gameplan with jefferson.

he needs snaps in case lee goes down.

Lee is the starter, and hopefully the coaches call better plays for him.

like the "go deep" play, every other play.

no more middle crossing patterns or any of that crazy shite. Lee proved he is a long ball thrower.

I want to see the coaches let him air it out.

He threw one pass that was complete,
He threw one that should have been caught and was dropped.

There was one pass where there was obvious miscommunication between him and the reciever.

I see potential, but Lee is clearly the best choice for us right now.

oh no doubt. lee is the starter without question.

but jefferson does need playing time without a doubt. and not garbage time. PLAYING TIME.

he can be such a weapon for the offense!

and it gets lee out of the game to rest for a minute and get himself straightened up.

Agree, and if you're looking for some positives, and to be fair to Lee. Go watch the game replay and in the 4th quarter as Lee becomes more confident, he checks off not 2 but 3 receivers and hits the open one (LaFell) on a sideline route which was actually a pretty pass. He also throws 2 balls away instead of forcing them on 1st down, we end up scoring on both of those possessions.

In being fair to Lee I think that Lee was much further along in his first game than JJ was in his. Neither were ready to be on the field this season but given that Lee has done a good job. Good enough to win the West, no, but I feel comfortable with him being the starter next year and think that we could be a top 10 team (depending on the defense) with Lee as QB.

The JJ show only allowed LSU fans to see that Lee will be the man this year and possibly the rest of his stay in B. Rouge.

Are you fricking serious? Lee might be the starter for 4 years, but JJ's sporadic play in a game as a true freshman certainly does not destin him to 4 years of pine-ridding. I know this is hard for some of your retards to understand, but players oftentimes get better.

This thread went wrong as soon as you tried to compare JJ to JR.
