why are people all of a sudden pretending as if there's some choice between a QB who can throw and one who can run? wtf have you been watching for 3 years?

yesterday, he ran in a straight line for 83 yards without falling down. good for him. its more than i thought he was capable of.

his 1 carry yesterday = 83 yards
his other 207 carries = 411 yards

before yesterday, in 18 starts, how many games over 100 yards has he ever had? zero.

over 75 yards? zero.

over 50 yards? zero.

over 30 yards? three.

UNDER 20 yards? ten.

putting him in does nothing, it doesn't make the defense guess, except for which lineman hes going to run into the back of before falling down. i defended him for a long time, but he had his chance, and he's not good, at anything. it we're lucky he'll never take another snap at LSU.

Pretty much. JJ brings nothing to the table that isn't easily replaced if not improved without him.

he has deceptive speed. (not the Skip Bertman kind)

he did make one little juke on that 83-yarder. And that DB could not catch him.

All that said, I want Lee to start and LSU run a pro-style offense that relies on Ridley pounding the rock and Lee working off of play-action.

Well I don't know about all of that BUT one thing I know and this is without a shadow of a doubt: He cannot run the option. In the nearly 30 years that I've been a fan of college football I don't think I've seen the option run any worse by anyone else.

He had at least a 10 to 15 yard headstart on that DB.

that was not a DB. that was defensive lineman chris walker.

and you should rewatch the play and check out the epic hold by josh d. on the LB.

particularly if they'll let Shep throw just one pass out of an option or a zone read fake...

So running from behind the line of scrimmage through the defensive line he had a 10 to 15 yard head start? Admit it. He outran their secondary. No excuses needed.

J. Lee should still start. If you want to criticize the turnovers and completion percentage fine. It's not necessary to deny the one success he did have because it did contribute to the win. At least be adult about it.

I'm glad we scored on that play but people need to realize that it's a fluke

In the middle of your mean-spirited rant, realize that your stat numbers are flawed. In college, a QB's sack totals are figured into his rushing. His numbers on just pure rushing plays are not that bad.

And I do hope he takes another snap at LSU...at some point we are going to need him, trust me.

I agree, but unfortunately I dont think miles will put shep in at QB...he will but jefferson back there. So for now we are stuck with him coming in in certain situations to run the ball.

It's like I said last week on here, we need JJ and JL. And we're going to play both the rest of the year. I'd get that thru my head if I was you.

i have been saying this all along. JJ is NOT a running qb!! Together with the fact that he can't throw.........Les is a fricking idiot. That's all I got.
