Only Jay knows if this is hurting or helping him. I trust Jay.
They’re certain kids that can take this as a learning lesson and get better without it ruining them.
Jones is one of those

This might be the most predictable thread ever. I saw this coming a mile away

I mean he has a point. Jones is striking out 50% of the time against lower level pitching. There are players on the bench that are hitting better than him.

Could say the same about Jobert. If he can hit consistently against these teams I can't trust him to hit against the SEC.

It depends on if the coach thinks all he needs is plate appearances to gain experience and get better. If so, get it now when it doesn't hurt.

I know, but eventually there is going to come a time when the players that are performing the best need to be on the field. Not saying that time is now, but it’s coming soon. SEC play starts in 2 weeks and opposing pitching isn’t going to get any easier

You could say that Jobert has struck out in 50% of his at bats?

I mean, I guess you could say it if you wanted to. But you would be wrong.

My biggest problem with Jobert is he's extremely inconsistent (best hitter on the team or he can't hit a ball off a high school pitcher.

Jay Johnson mentioned that he wants professional at bats and I don't feel like we're getting that from him.

At this point we have 2 spots not sorted out in the lineup LF and DH and I think you keep trying Jones, Jobert, Beloso, and Pearson and pick the 2 that make your team better when SEC play starts.

Too easy to pitch around him in the 7 hole. He’s been much better in the 4 and 5 spots than he has in the 6-7 holes. .333 avg, .555 OB% in the 4-5 slots compared to .181 avg, .360 OB% in the 6 and 7 spots.

Jobert had one bad at bat yesterday. the other 3 he hit the ball good just right at someone. Who you going to replace him with other 3rd basement is batting .150 and the other outfielders are not doing any better either

I don’t see anyone really pitching around him. I’m all for hitting hrs and doubles and scoring runs. I really don’t care too much about high strikeout rates as an out is an out. But over 50% strike out rate is a little much.

He’s not getting many fastballs. I’m not saying don’t replace him but if you’re gonna play him you have to protect him so that he gets a steady diet of fastballs on the plate.
