with Jacque when he asked about Hilliard. Says he’ll be part of Tuesday. Guess he’s relegated to a mid-week guy now. Can definitely see that , seeing how great the other guys pitched TIC

I liked the part where he said Monday was supposed to be a day off. Not anymore

I'm wondering if he wants to give Hilliard some mid-week innings to get his confidence back up. We know he has the ability, but he still isn't the same from before his injury.

Guess he’ll do just like PM did, give up on Hilliard. Then beg him to help bail you out in SEC play once the other guys crap the bed!!

Hilliard needs to be super sharp with that curve ball. Without it, he can't pitch.

Last year, it took half the year for him to find it. Until that happens, he just needs to keep working to get that feel.

But, as it stands now, I don't see who wins a Saturday game for LSU in the SEC.

It's early, but we will find someone. We always do.

Coleman and Edwards came on strong at the end of last year. I expect one of those two will be in the rotation before long.

I get the feeling that he’s switching Hellmers and Hilliard. May see Hellmers as Sunday guy going forward

Here's my issue, and I think it's the same reason you haven't seen them make other changes. The guys are in the position they are, based off of what they did during the offseason after Johnson was hired. Hilliard did something to initially earn that Saturday role they started him out in, and it seems two weeks is awfully quick to back out of that decision. I don't think the decision was made in two weeks, so they should give Hilliard more than two weeks to work out of it. He's proven.

I'm sure he had lots of people tell him about the pressure on the baseball coach at LSU versus at Arizona but he's just now experiencing himself for the first time

Or Hilliard will do what he does every year

Suck early and then Round into form later in the year.

Hilliard could keep his spot by not giving up 5 ER in 8 innings to Southern and Maine

Does one beg a member of the team to play? I thought that was why he was on the team.

Will Coleman and Edwards be in because they earned it or because they are all we have?

but the biggest issue with this team is who pitches Saturday in the SEC?

No sir! Not even close. The biggest issue with this team, by a country mile, is defense. This team could possibly make it to a Super Regional without developing another starter if it plays great defense and hits. No way this team can make it out of a regional, and probably will not make the NCAA tournament, if it keeps playing defense this way.

Welcome to Baton Rouge. Nobody held a gun to his head when Johnson signed the contract.

Expectations are over the top for a reason.
