Johnny Jones is merely a symptom of the actual problem.

Trent Johnson.

Johnny Jones.

Football coaching debacle in 2015.

Football coaching debacle in 2016.

Continually embarrassing this university from a PR perspective.

Jones is a side effect of the actual issue, which is Alleva. The man has made two absolutely abysmal basketball hires, and yet we have fans pleading him to fire our current coach...and hire another?

Does anyone here actually want Alleva to make a third basketball hire?

Alleva needs to be the first to go if we expect the next basketball hire to be even moderately promising.

Trent Johnson was a great hire on paper. Just saying.

ETA: In no way sticking up for Jones.

all women at 16 years old who are below 5 foot seven should be sterilized. That way money can go to lsu instead of feeding teen mothers babies. But we need football players to be born in the state so if a woman is over 5 foot 7 she won't be sterilized.

We need to fire Alleva, bring in Skip as interim AD, fire Jones, and then let Skip hire the new basketball coach and AD.

Hell, when Trent had talent, he won the conference. He just had no interest in recruiting.

Can someone accuse the Quidditch team of sexual assault?

Alleva seems to have done a good job generating revenue and improving the LSU facilities, but he does not seem to be cut out to hire coaches and manage the product placed on the field or court. I'm not sure why LSU cannot retain Alleva to do what he does well but allow others to handle hiring and firing coaches. OP is correct that this is a pattern.

Trent was a better hire, on paper, for sure.

However, Trent was much worse for our program than Johnny. And that's fricking hard to believe.

Also, I don't believe Alleva had much say in the hiring of Jones. The BBQ hired Jones.

You mean the program coached by Miles that brought in the money.

How was Trent worse than Jones for the program? Thought he left the program in better shape than Jones will leave it in this year.

Trent had the benefit of Brooke and Robin Lopez's mom working at Stanford, otherwise he may have sucked there too.

TL;DR

Breaking News: Alleva is lazy and should be unemployed.

True to an extent I think as he really never should have been hired and I think on this, unlike Trent, most people said that from the start.

His office should have been cleared out on November 27th.

. Fine make Joe AD over facility improvements. Hire someone to be AD over personnel

The biggest part of generating revenue is keeping fans interested. Who is going to pay for tickets and merchandise when the product on the field/court is completely unwatchable?
