Does anyone have an update on Emery? I realize he’s a 6th year senior and he’s expired his eligibility, but still just curious. The young man seemed to really stick it out rain or shine.

I think it’s best for both parties to just move on.

I don’t think that’s been determined yet. Or announced. Was a question on if he could count an academic suspension year as a redshirt.

Based off an injury?

Emery was RB1c last season. We could sure use his experience in the rotation this year.

Yeah, I can see why he would want to maybe move on, but LSU could definitely use him. Could have used him before the Holly deal, but definitely now. Even coming off an injury, he’s likely better than anybody that’ll be available in the spring/summer portal.

What does that even mean?

He had 23 carries. More like RB3/4

None of LSU's RBs locked down RB1 for any consistent amount of games last season. He was a proportional part of a three to four-part RB rotation.

ETA: I concede that Emery may have functioned as more of an RB3 in a mediocre 4-rotation RB room. I still think he could be viable back-up option with a higher ceiling and level of experience than most options we'll find in the portal.

His biggest problem is that he was hurt late in the season last year and would not be ready for start of season

I’d rather use his reps on someone younger who has a future here and get them experience.

No point in trying to keep forcing this. His career here didn’t work out like we all had hoped and that’s ok. He isn’t the first and he won’t be the last. Just my opinion. Whatever BK decides to do is good enough for me.

Meh. Diggs was the clear #1 for large portions of last year.

With the direction CFB is headed, it’s just a matter of time before that happens
