This makes me sick considering it sounds like he was leaving before we came up with a better offer (for whatever reason).

I'm usually pretty supportive of LSU coaches and staff but I was looking forward to that change.

At least this means the idiots will stop with the 'sinking ship' talk.

Maybe ol Joe can set another pile of money on fire and hire a great Women's Soccer coach or a Volleyball coach.

The tiniest of silver linings.

I was really looking forward to the possibilities of bringing someone in here that can get us rejuvinated in all sports.

Not a huge fan of Alleva but I liked his hiring strategies for the two jobs we just had open. Hopefully we maintain that same strategy if we need to hire a men's basketball coach soon.

Hire a big name coach, fail, and then hire someone unknown?

I suppose there is something to be said for continuity and stability.

He didn't do that with Caldwell and I don't expect a men's basketball coach to puss out the same way Murphy and Habetz did. Either way I'd prefer to initially aim high. Our search for a new coach probably won't start in the Sun Belt/CUSA something we couldn't always say.

Again I ask how you pin this on Alleva. All the softball coaching hire showed is what a scumbag Murphy was in the first place imo.

Joe says his heart bleeds purple and gold. Sounds like the offer of more money from UT it could have bled orange just as easily. Why even say something as stupid as that when you were on the verge of leaving for another school? No one is dumb enough to believe this is more then just a job for any of them. The people who grew up on LSU are the only ones who bleed purple and gold.
