Finally coming in to camp in shape. Fired up to see how good a well-conditioned Johnny can be.

My only worry is that he doesn't try too hard to show he's a jump shooter. I think we'll have enough of those and I just don't think his stroke is consistent enough to waste his time out on the perimiter.

The lack of interest in LSU basketball gives us a foreboding warning of what can happen in Tiger Stadium if we don't take heed!

I'm not too worried about Johnny shooting too many jump-shots. He may have done that in the past out of necessity more than anything. Really glad he decided to return this season. Basketball season can't get here sooner.

He will shoot less jumpers this year imho. He has the skilled players around him now in Martin and a few others. If he starts trying to impress the scouts for the NBA draft, I am sure Johnny Jones will get on his arse. Oh yeah, he does look like he lost about 10 or so plus the lack of dreads from his Freshman year make him look smaller.

I agree. He hasn't had the likes of Odo, Martin, Mickey, and Malone alongside him throughout his career. I doubt it, but if he stays just one more season, we'd be so scary for the '14-'15 season. Imagine the bigs I just mentioned alongside freshmen Aaron Epps and Elbert Robinson.

Unless JOB3 gets injured and gets a medical redshirt, he is 100% gone imo. Johnny thanked him for coming back in front of the fans at the PMAC Thursday. He's gone. Do you remember when JOB3 signed with LSU that he said he was gonna play a few years and then go pro? Well, anything we get from him now is lagniappe. He has matured a lot in 2 years and I would think he will be late first or early second round if he repeats what he did last year.

Yeah I think it's a sure thing that he's gone too. Just wishful thinking

I sincerely hope so, but I don't think the reason he was jacking was because of necessity, I think like alot of big guys today, they think they can, even when for the most part they can't.

Johnny finally did that late in the year, and he quit doing it. I kinda wished he'd have done it earlier, because there are one or two of the close games against beatable teams that I think it may have cost us.

I'm sure another point of emphasis has been his footwork. He was good for a couple of traveling calls every game, and probably got away with at least 2 or 3 more every game. If he can tighten that up and concentrate on the post I think he can be the player we've seen glimpses of consistently this year.
