this year he has way over coached. There’s a fine line between hard work and over doing it. At a certain point you have to stop meddling with the line up and let the players get in a groove. You can’t get comfortable with the amount of shuffling from game to game, inning to inning.

I agree. This team is pressing now. I feel like they need a full reset. No idea how. This whole season has taken on a life of it’s own.

The reason CJJ keeps trying different lineups is because none have worked. If he hadn’t tried different lineups people who be asking why.

He has definitely outcoached himself in a few games.

The lack of improvement from guys who were supposed to be key players on this team is what has killed them. Hurd, Kling, Neal, Pearson, Guidry have all been massive disappointments. And we don't have the top end talent to make up for that. We've got guys who should be role players that are having to try to carry this team.

These are the same players that have played damn near all year it’s not the meddling they can’t hit timely ! Not even against the worst teams !

This is what happens when you can only win one way. If you have a situation like this year you have no alternate method to win with. Pure analytics in college baseball is extremely flawed since there isn’t near enough data to reliably go by. You have to be able to scratch runs across and play situational baseball.

There is a difference between "trying different lineups" and tinkering with everything all the time. Also, the pitching changes have been AWFUL this year.

I don’t disagree . But man, up 1 game to nothing with Holman starting. In the past the situation would be in the bank. I know Holman ain’t Skenes but with Mizzou’s putrid offense I thought this was gonna be our game

Actually I thinkink this team does better when the lineup changes often.

It’s kinda a weird thing, like they are exited to try something new after a day or two.

Mental mistakes have cost them at least 4 SEC wins

Just how do you know he's the hardest-working coach in the game?

At the beginning of the year we were told the offense is going to suck but the pitching would be elite. When you tout the pitching like that then you would expect to win most SEC games when your offense puts up 7 runs against one of the worst offensive teams in the SEC.

One of the most confusing things besides the pitching being average at best has to be what Larson showed or didn’t show before the season to really not sniff the field. That kid is an absolute stud and should have been in the lineup day 1. Outside of White he has to be one of the better pure hitters on the team.

This is correct.
Don’t listen to that dumb arse Lester Earl either because he’s a fricking moron. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it until I die. The problem with this is when you need a run you can’t score just a run.

For example, Johnson is bitching about not scoring with a man on third and less than two outs.. Well, they can’t play small ball at all so shite happens like today with Larson (?) getting thrown out at Home when Bingham headed to third. Well, you might say it was still “early in the game“ but the way LSU was playing down by two runs is big.
Johnson gambles on them, hitting the three run homer when his team can’t fricking hit.

Why do y’all say biased shite like this? You have no idea how hard he works compared to other coaches. I’m tired of hearing shite like:

“He eats, sleeps and breaths baseball”
“He’s a baseball nut, he lives for this”
“He’s so competitive”

Yea no shite he’s a baseball coach. He likes baseball. I’m sure he works hard. So do all the other good coaches around the country

Agreed. For all we know Tony Vs family doesn’t even want to be around him so he has nothing better to do than to work. I would imagine at the end of the day the up and coming hustlers are working just as hard as the others.
