It's a Pet peeve of mine. You can take it as constructive criticism, and correct it, or you can continue to look ignorant and post insults to the people that are trying to correct you.

Of course not, but no one will start threads on message boards if he goes on TV and says USC starting 22 are marginally better than anyone in CFB. Hyperbole is the name of the game in TV.

Their schedule is so easy it is laughable. There are a few Sunbelt teams that could win 6-7 games with that schedule. I shite you not.

Also, remember, USC is a Tier 1 Media Darling, if not THE highest Tier 1 media darling with Bama.

All USC has to do is finish third in the Pac12 for consideration to play in Miami.

So, say they go 11-1, and sit at home in December. That's good enough to put them in.

Really then do explain why in 2007, the tier 1 media darling, fell from #1 to #2 behind apparent media after thought LSU after winning in week 5? Was it because of LSU's dominating win over Tulane (a game an alien would think we lost based on the reaction on here). Why did USC fall from 2 to 10 after losing to Stanford, but LSU only fell from 1 to 5 after losing to UK. A week after losing to UK, media pariah LSU was back to #3. That entire season LSU never dropped out of the top 5, despite 2 losses, mean while the media darling never got back into the top 5 until after the bowls. Yep, media really favors USC over all, leaving them #7 with 2 losses behind 5 other 2 loss teams

LINK

Then there's 2008, 11-1 USC was #5, behind 4 other 1 loss teams. Some darling.

Its long past time for LSU fans to get over this insecurity about USC. We have a great program. 2003 was 9 years ago. USC does have a good program and great history. They are no more or less over rnaked than any other great team.

They've managed to blow chances at NCs with these type schedules for years, with much deeper rosters.

What I would like to know is what has USC done the last few years to be mentioned along side LSU & Bama?

Mayhawman is correct. USC plays maybe two tough teams a year. They lose to 28 point dogs. LSU plays 8 or 9 ranked teams and loses in triple overtime to two of them. You figure it out as to who should play for a championship.

exactly

Minnesota 19-17 win
Utah 23-14 win
Syracuse 38-17 win
Arizona St. 22-43 Loss
Arizona 48-41 win
Cal 30-9 win
ND 31-17 win
Stanford 48-56 loss
Colorado 42-17 win
Washington 40-17 win
Oregon 38-35 win
UCLA 50-0 win

The win at Oregon is a nice win, but beyond that its just a bunch of average teams.

USC coming off a bowl ban to ESPN talking heads is the equivalent of letting a starved tiger loose in a petting zoo. They've been waiting on this for a long time.

I know most of you feel alabama is THE media darling, but we were only there because SC was rehabbing in the minors

We are well aware, remember 2003

and the following years, I remember at one point ESPN was touting USC as having won 3 straight national titles when in reality they have never won 2 in a row. Then had the only legitimate one that they had won stripped for cheating.

Look at the common competition last year. Oregon vs. USC & LSU vs. Oregon.

Then talk to me about their Top 22.

That's a joke of a comparison.

I don't think they have "the" best 22. I think they have the best QB and best WR combo and I think most talking heads exaggerate this aspect to the whole team. No one talks about how bad there defense was last year. They do have talent and their QB/WR are more talented but LSU and Bama's OL are better and our RBs are better and their defenses don't compare to either of ours. JMHO.

Yes, I used hyperbole, but in all seriousness, this schedule is a joke for a true BCSNCG contender. This is weaker than Bama's schedule last year, and that's saying a lot:

Sept. 1 -- Hawaii
Sept. 8 -- vs. Syracuse (@ E. Rutherford, N.J.)
Sept. 15 -- at Stanford
Sept. 22 -- California
Oct. 4 (Th.) -- at Utah
Oct. 13 -- at Washington
Oct. 20 -- Colorado
Oct. 27 -- at Arizona
Nov. 3 -- Oregon
Nov. 10 -- Arizona State
Nov. 17 -- at UCLA
Nov. 24 -- Notre Dame

Outside of Oregon, what is their toughest game?

Keep in mind, they can lose to Oregon, sit at home for the Pac12CG, and pass the "eyeball test".

Am I the only one who sees how rediculously easy this route to Miami is?
