He is only a true sophomore and in three games he's won them all including 2 4th quarter come backs. He will continue to improve. Will be awesome to have him for this season and 2 more. I love the fact that he is mobile and can throw on the run and scramble for 1st downs makes us a far tougher team to defend.

I see you AJ.

I cant make that same call yet. Did his "clutchness" cause the arkansas dbs to lose dural?

It was indicative that he was capable of wanting the want. He displayed tremendous composure against quality competition.

I agree - he is calm, cool & collected when the game is on the line. That's something I really never saw from JL, JJ or Mett. Keep up the good work, AJ!

Iowa/Spring Game......he's capable of great things but still has some Jeckyll and Hyde moments. Gonna wait til mid season to declare him mr. Clutch.

I know it must have been discussed, but I haven't ran across it so, I just realized that AJs miracle bomb last year the first time we saw him was to Dural as well

Is it just uncanny chemistry betwixt those two? Or just coincidence that is the guy getting open when AJ is making his plays?

No, but his clutchness had him drop a perfect pass over the LB to Dillon Gordon to start that drive...that was his first pass in a legit game situation, all while backed up on his own 3 and needing to drive 97 yards to win the game. That was pretty damn clutch if you ask me.

The kid is a cool customer. If you're not quite sold, that's fine. Just don't use Dural being wide open on one play as the basis of your argument.

i don't like this argument

if the thread title was "Dural seems to have the clutch factor" you could say "did his 'clutchness' cause AJ to drop a perfect pass into his lap?"

The Arkansas play was designed for Dural to be open after he DBs bit on the pump fake to Landry, so I don't think that was chemistry...But obviously there is some there. They probably worked quite a bit while he was running with the 2nd team last year and Dural was jumping between the 1s and 2s.

ETA - I'm actually really excited about our WR group. Dural, Diarse, Quinn, and Dupre could be really fun to watch this year.

I noticed this also. When he came in the Arkansas game, he had to go win the game.

The Iowa game, he was told not to lose the game and just to depend on the run game, and he didn't look great.

The 1st half of the wiscy game, we were trying rely on the run game again, but in the second half, we needed him to contribute in order to win the game, and he does great.

I think if we stopped relying so heavily on our run game and made him a significant part of our offense, then he would flourish. However, in a limited role, he can't get in a rhythm.

He only looks short next to linemen, most of who are 6'5+, same for the TE's, but he looks taller than pretty much all the runningbacks and receivers minus dupree and leslie

He's the anti-Romo. Romo is great for 3 quarters and sucks in the clutch. Jennings is mediocre the first 3 and turns it on when it matters. The Rant will be bitchy, but the kid just wins. You have to respect that.

This is the main thing that has stood out about him to me. I noticed it when he came in the Arky game. Lots of young guys would panic in some of those situations. Cam is coaching him well. Hopefully he can build more chemistry with the offense in the next couple weeks.
