Pretty painful to look at. I sure hope he turns it around, but he's been playing some of the weaker defenses he'll see this year these last 3 weekends and overall he just hasn't got it going for an entire game. Two games under 100 yards passing is almost embarrassing. It almost seems like he's the Reggie Ball of LSU now.
I just don't understand how he can't get it going yet this year. He has a much better offensive line who is protecting him very well (only 3 sacks allowed in 3 games). He has a very solid run game producing and taking pressure off him (>200 yards a game). He has 3 5-star WRs to throw to. Blame the playcalling, blame him not doing his job, I dont know what....Jefferson just has to improve, and improve a large bit from his current play. At this point I feel like we'd be a much better offensive team if we went to Oregon's style of offensive with Russell Shepard at QB.

How many of the 116 are 3-0?

Want to see something funny?
Go to the dial and set it to 2006 and look for Dennis Dixon (hint: He's #70)
Now, flip it to 2007, the year after Crowton left Oregon, and see where he is. (Hint: He's #3).

Why do you say "JJ" can't get ot going. The lack of a passing game in the last outing had nothing to do with JJ's ineptness. If you don't call pass plays then, duh it isn't going to get going. Passing game worked when they decided to throw this past game.

Need to bench PP for being ranked too high in the return game?

We threw the ball 20 times against Vandy for less than 100 yards, that's pretty bad. 16 times for 96 yards isn't pretty facepalm worthy too.
I'm not expecting him to throw for 200-250 every game. But these are the easier teams we're playing here and he just can't get it going despite everything working in his favor. We need some sort of downfield threat like we saw with the Jefferson to Randle connection in game 1. We aren't going to beat Bama, Florida, Auburn or Arkansas throwing for under 100 yards in these games.

So you are acknowledging that Crowton prepared things for the #3 ranked QB in the country.

Oregon yanked Crowton's crap option route offense as soon as he left the parking lot at the end of 2006.
You can look at John Beck at BYU as well.
Crowton's offense is just awful. Everywhere he's been, it's been awful and the QB running it has played awful.

Miles should have just paid crowton's buyout and told him to hit the bricks.

Well, the good news is he's still young and learning the system, and with a little more patience, he should develop.

I would love to see this but there is no way LM and GC will do it

He was a 5-star athlete out of high shcool by most folks, it's pretty clear his ability translates over to WR. He's one of the most dangerous guys with the ball in his hands in the nation. He's the perfect slot WR and all-purpose player.

That is irrelevant. Yes we are 3-0 against teams we were suppose to beat.

Yeah like its his fault he has an incompetent offensive coordinator who besides not being worth a shite as a quarterback coach, can’t call plays.
quote:
I just don't understand how he can't get it going yet this year.
What you mean, his first game he had it going. I mean he hit more than 70 percent of his passes including a beautiful 51-yard bomb, and last night overall he played lights out. Now, of course, he had a pretty bad game last week, but that really was his worse game since he became a starter and one bad game don’t make a season. If anyone is to blame for his lack of productivity, it’s GC who is too incompetent and far too conservative for his own good.

That’s right. So why is Crowton afraid to pull the trigger? I mean we are loaded to the gills at the receiver position. Hence, why didn’t he call more vertical plays last night, and why blame JJ for his lack of production when he had no control over the play calling?
quote:
He has a very solid run game producing and taking pressure off him (>200 yards a game).
Yeah, but the run game would be even better if Crowton would open it up more.
quote:

No shite, we should have the number one or number two passing team in the SEC. It’s time for Crowton to get his finger out of his arse and quit being so damn conservative, and there is no excuse for our lack of production.

Why are you laying it all on JJ, with the exception of a single game, he had a pretty good first game. After all he hit over 71 percent of his passes and last night was pretty solid as well, and with respect to the Vanderbilt game, everyone is entitled to one bad game, but after I re-watched that game twice, I realized it wasn’t as bad of a game as I originally first thought as some of those low passes were caused by pressure as JJ was hit at the same that time he released the ball.
The problem is not JJ, overall he’s done his job, it’s obviously the play calling. I mean JJ can’t get his production up unless Crowton calls the plays. Indeed, everything that was said about Crowton is coming to fruition as he is making all of our stars look like shite.

Why even mention something that will never ever happen? What use does it serve? You're dreaming out loud, and lousy job of analyzing the problem. Don't lose you day job.
