And Obviously Landry never knew or cared about it until some social media outlet out of nowhere cherry picked our game (note - no mention of both teams in the next women's game following right after ours the same routine) and pointed out to him that he should be outraged and of course he saw the opportunity to score political points or so he thought.

This is a bullshite fake outrage and our Governor landed on the retard side

Absolutely, it's look at me virtue signaling. I've been late to games where I've missed the anthem, I've been in the bathroom during the anthem, doesn't mean I'm not an American any more than the guy who makes sure you see him doing it so he can pat himself on the back.

Someone should show up to his next press conference with the anthem cued up and play it every time he goes to talk. If he respects the anthem like he says he does and is not virtue signaling, he will stand quietly every time and everyone will win. If he talks over it, it would be a hilarious display of obvious hypocrisy and everyone will still kinda win.

what a fricking clown - is it that hard to have a governor that doesn't embarrass the state on a national level?

Other governors frick up but they don't go on national television to brag about it.

I’m that y’all are really up in arms about players showing respect to our own country. Just wow.

If they are out there, they are out there bro. If not, cool, because my money was spent on them playing their best and hopefully winning. I didn’t spend my money for anything to do with the anthem. I enjoy the anthem and seeing the crowd signing and whoever the singer is but I don’t get off or get pissed if I notice someone isn’t out there (the team). I don’t care about the dude in the beer line that just farted during the anthem either.

It’s just a game, exactly! So WTF does a game have to do with showing respect to our country. A game and respect for our country have no relationship with one another.

And why games? specifically at college and pro level and only for 3-4 sports where we have this discussion. Why? because your local culture war politician who isn’t doing shite, is now getting your donation because he jedi mind fricked you to forget about our shitty state and all its problems and the money he’s putting in his friends pockets. He has basically admitted he isn’t doing shite for us based on this action other than fighting over anthems, probably some transgender thing coming soon, and then we’ll be worrying about Texas/Arizona and Mexico border.

Your existence and people like you prevent progress in our country as you’re too dumb to hold authority accountable.

Landry is going to do something to piss off blacks from not going to LSU to play ball. Bottom line, no one has to stand, sing, or whistle for the national anthem, period. Leave it alone Landry, you don't know what you're doing and you never will, cause you're an ignoramus

I'm with you all the way on this tibe. There's an old saying I like to use because it's true and it's appropriate here - "passion is the true enemy of reason". This is the case with the Anthem Police - they let their passion for an ideal that is important to them in particular this case that we are discussing - cloud simple reason. I can to some point at least understand this.

Now, Landry - all political...totally. Dude thinks he's pandering to his conservative constituency, but he fricked up there and pissed even a lot of them - because this ain't about disrespecting the anthem. Everyone who knows the facts here realizes that. And I think now he realizes that but he like Latoya - ain't apologizing and he'll double down on stupid - hell he already has.

Thanks to the same trial lawyer comprised PACs that donated to JBE. In August of 2023, those PACs had raised more money for Landry than they did for JBE at that same point in the 2019 election cycle. Wrap your arms around that one.

I am glad you pointed that out. My Insurance agent, long time in the industry told me the same thing back in Summer of 2023. I asked him about Reform that could help mitigate LA insurance rates for automobiles. He said Landry was offered money by the Trial Lawyer PAC's and it was more than what they offered JBE. I said did he take it, and he said yes.

I said well I guess that means No Tort Reform. And he said yep. He is more tied to them than JBE was.

Republican douche governor does something idiots, and this guy blames Democrats.
Can't make it up!

Agree, that shows you how much many Republicans today are as crazy as the radical far left. As an old Reagan/William F. Buckley National Review Conservative (when it was run by Classical Catholic Conservatives), the modern GOP has turned into Tribalism no different than the Identity Group politics of the far left.

Which is why I am an Independent and say F both of them.

I've served 23 years in the Marine Corps and I can tell you what I swore to defend. I/We swore to oath to defend the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Not a damn flag. Now, with all due respect, the flag represents FREEDOM. And in that freedom, you have a freedom to stand/sit/kneel or not attend.
_________

Well I am from a military family that doesn't see it the same. We have been kill or be killed for generations and have lost several in service. I chose to respond to you because of your 23 years. You deserve the respect of a reply. Maybe we can converse without getting ugly.

I don't think the governor should have gone public with this, and it could be politically motivated. Not the right way to do this.

I don't know of any veterans or active that do not stand for the anthem. There are some, I just don't know any. The ones I know see it as a sign of respect. Not all feel exactly the same but good soldiers respect their leadership and their elders, and are willing to defend them. I see our military service as defending our country. The flag represents our country. It did to my dad. He fought hand to hand, up close and personal. I think about that a lot. Not taking anything away from those that were asked to fight differently. The time and place for everyone in active duty is what it is. Dad 100% believed in honoring the flag. He deserves my respect and yours. My whole family is that way. Some of us were Vietnam, and Iraq. That came out different from WWII, but we all stand. I have first hand knowledge of a young widow who stands. If this bothers many who showed up when it was their turn to serve, then some lucky sports stars can use it as a chance to show respect. Since it doesn't bother you, I bet you agree that a lot of your brothers think we should stand. I see no reason to go against them. They earned it. You earned the right to your opinion, too. It is fine if it doesn't happen to bother you. I just think those on the sideline should not run their mouths so much about their rights that others defend for them or the widow. Most of the folks that have so much to say on this would shite themselves in active duty. How many of them would freely choose to serve because they think it is the right thing to do? But they sure can run their mouth about freedom. Bunch of big mouth tough guys. I don't want to waste my time replying to them.

I stand out of respect to the many that earned it and because they think I should. I believe most military feel that way. My dad came back or else I wouldn't be here. Have 2 uncles that didn't. Have a son who was army sniper in Iraq, and came back changed for the worse. He stands. I don't side with those that don't.

I think the fact that nfl believes people need reminding of it at a professional football game by plastering it all over the field and uniforms is far more of something that can’t be understood.

That’s just me though.

Where did you get that invoice for the champagne? There's an idea. Go back and check his background, report things he has done to cheat Louisiana taxpayers, check previous police reports, things he has done unpatriotic, etc, and report it to the national media and Louisiana reporters. Put it all over social media. Give him a taste of his own medicine. He has no idea who he is messing with...angry LSU fans. Where is our AD and President, why aren't they defending Kim and the athletes? Even Kelly didn't defend Kim, he agreed with the governor.

Thanks Juice. Hope an LSU fan finds something on Landry and make it public, put it on all the social media platforms. Let him try to squirm his way out. He is not squeaky clean.
