The writing is on the wall. Jay will be the goat after the next 10-15 years, eclipsing Bertman in the same way Saban eclipsed Bear Bryant.

I wish nothing more than for Jay to do that but come on now...

This is a bit much.

No. Bertman's record cannot be repeated, more competition now.

And the first season he doesn't win one you'll be on here crying like a bitch.

Is it though? It’s a different era in baseball and HS commits are going to college vs signing with MLB at a much higher rate due to NIL and other factors. It’s not really that much of a stretch when HS baseball commits aren’t signing with the MLB as much as they used to.

Probably facts. Johnson can, however, have a more impressive run than Skip did without getting the trophies.

If we go a 10 year stretch with 3 titles and 8 trips to Omaha and 2 super exits, I'd say given the times we are in that it's even more impressive than what Skip did.

Look a-hole, I know how hard it is to win one in baseball. I won’t fault Jay if a great team doesn’t win it, but they’re gonna be in position to win it more times than not. That’s all I ask

Not sure he will eclipse the Skipper in # of Natty titles; but Jay is Sabanesque in his work ethic, drive, love for the game and attention to detail. Coach is building a Monster program that will be very hard to dethrone for sure.

And that’s all any fan can ask for

what Bertman did will never be replicated....too much parity now in college baseball

I am just enjoying the ride now and glad I am finally a seasson ticket holder even though I live out of state

This might be true, but all we can ask for as fans is to be in it. No losing regionals or even supers. We should be in Omaha most years and in position to compete for it all. If we are there every year, and winning it some, that’s enough.

I get that, all I'm saying its vastly more competitive these days in college baseball to replicate what Skip did in terms of winning a national title.

But yes its a golden opportunity right now in the sport with NIL/Portal, players are more inclined to hone in on their craft, make cash before entering the pros (unless you are undeniable top prospect).

With LSU getting to keep more of their top prospects (others will as well). But for the sport it will be refreshing to see more top players actually enter the college ranks instead of jump going pro for a change.

Jay is a great coach and hard worker. I suspect he will continue to do great things at LSU. Grabbing him and Mulkey have been outstanding for LSU. It would be amazing for CBK to bring in another trophy in the near future.

LSU only lost one draft risk recruit this year to the draft, and that kid went #3 overall. That is an incredible start for next year’s LSU team. It might not ever happen again.

Some of Skips best teams didn’t win also. That 1998 team was incredible.
