Jarrett Lee was 6-of-12 for 50 yards. No interceptions. At least he's improving I'm also glad that JJ is not only managing the game well but is making some nice throws too (per the inside scoop). This should keep defenses honest and not load up the box like last year.

JL will play a very important part in LSU football the next 3 years as JJ's backup. In case of injury he is the number 2 like RP was in the 2007 Championship year. It scares me with QBs running the QB option getting hurt in the SEC like Flynn. SEC football is very physical and most QBs get hurt. Tebow was talking about hurting his left shoulder last year.

I'll be willing to bet he is backing up Chris Garrett instead.

Offensively, sophomore quarterback Jordan Jefferson had his best scrimmage statistically, going 11-of-14 for 150 yards and one touchdown. Jefferson connected with Brandon LaFell on a 15-yard scoring play as well as a 40-yard gain during the scrimmage. Freshman Russell Shepard connected on 3-of-4 passes for 73 yards and he led all rushers with 60 yards on six carries. Jarrett Lee was 6-of-12 for 50 yards, while Chris Garrett was 4-of-5 for 21 yards.

Looks like backup is in his future based on the other QB' performances as well. I sure hope he contributes when called upon though.

You think Lee will be backing up JJ for 3 years with RS competing for that spot too....JL will not be the # 2 guy next year, make room for RS

I don't think Shep will ever be the #1 QB. I will bet Les uses him like Regie Bush and Tim Tebow his freshman year. Shep will be a RB, slot man, WR, man in motion, and some QB. CG will red shirt and may beat out JL for QB #2 next year.

Dandy Don says R. Shepard to be LSU no. 2 QB this year, similar to LSU no. 2 QB in 2007, R.P.

I'm thinking that was a lame attempt at sarcasm, from what I've heard and read, there is no comparison.

We will see how many people change their tune if JJ goes down (god forbid) and JL has to step in and does good. I think he is a pretty good QB but was thrown into a bad situation last year.
