Exactly how many times will they say this? If it were Dustin Ackley, there would be no mention of it.

Before you all flame, this is not a thread to bash Jared. It's an injustice to him. They almost seemed surprised.

The "well spoken" black athelete is akin to the white athelete with "deceptive speed."

Jared was a student of my wife's and I told her the exact same thing. If Jared is white would they comment on how 'bright' and 'well spoken' he is?

She said no.

The other night after the interview, Mike Patrick spewed the "well spoken" phrase immediatley. OK, he gets a pass.

They talk about that interview today, and he hits us with "well spoken" and "articulate" in one desciptive sentence.

White or black when I saw/heard that interview I was proud that JM was representing LSU.

Well, he is pretty well spoken, and usually with a black athlete all you get is "he's a beast, very athletic". It's the white guys that draw the "cerebral" comments.

He speaking skills don't impress me enough to make a comment but I guess if you compare him to other pro atheletes he may be a little better. Black people are scared of bridges?

I would say a lot better.. But thats just me..

Its a sad thing that many pro's speak closer to Darren McFadden than Jared Mitchell.

I think I heard them say he was fast too. They may have mentioned that during one of our games.
