Good luck to Jamarcus, I hope he comes back and lights it up this year.

And if you have a problem with Russell supporting his uncle's record company because it has the word "Bama" in it I think that says a lot about your intelligence

At 280 with the work ethic I've seen so far, I become a believer.

And get over the gump trinkets already.

I thought Arizona would have been a good place but now that they have Palmer where else do y'all see as good options? Kansas City, Jets, Vikings?

I don't think he's in the right mindset to complete the comeback.

He said he's not even willing to look at playing in any league but the NFL, even just to tune up his game before the NFL season. If I was a team, this would throw up a huge red flag for me. He doesn't seem to have that drive and passion for the game, he wants the money and/or to not be known as such an epic failure for the rest of his life. It's nothing personal against the guy, it's just who he is.

He literally robbed the raiders of 30 million dollars and didnt hold up his end of the contract. He hasn't even apologized for that yet.

The tools have always been there, it's between the ears where his problems come in.

He was doing high reps and super sets. That could have been like the 10th set.

So full of fail

1) The Bama Boyz are not Bama fans. They attended Alabama A&T

2) Also, the chain worn said "Bama Boy" (no Z on the end)

2) The group's logo was never an elephant. It was a duck

3) In fact, the are no longer the Bama Boyz, they are now WatchTheDuck
quote:

WatchTheDuck was formed by friends Eddie Smith III, Jesse Rankins, and Jonathan Wells.

quote:

The Bama Boyz (a.k.a. the Bamaz) a songwriting and artist trio, consisting of Eddie “E-Trez” Smith III, Jesse J. Rankins, Jonathan D. Wells

So when JR was pictured wearing an elephant chain or a red leather jacket with a script A on it, it had ZERO to do with promoting records

for premier athletes, it doesn't take 2 years to regain the muscle memory, timing, etc. honestly, there have been plenty of professional athletes take 2 years off and come back and at least make a roster

Slow your F'ing roll! He is NOT a premier athlete! He can toss is 80 yds, but that in no way makes him a premier athlete. No more than someone who can long drive a golf ball 400 yds is NOT a premier golfer.

He was not that good when he was in the NFL, actually he was pathetic at times. Muscle memory isn't anything at his position. It's whats in his head that sucked....reading NFL D's and making the correct calls/reads/throws.

If he isn't more of a student of film, he can workout till he wins Mr Universe, it won't make him a good NFL qb.

I loved much of his play at LSU, but he also made critical errors at crunch time in a few games.

I hope he becomes an All Pro.

I will never pull for him again since the constant display of Bama gear has occurred.

Fact is he went into a horrible situation in Oakland at the time on a team that any young QB would struggle in. We do not know all the factors

This is a fact.

I think it will be sad but ultimately kind of fitting when all the JR bashers have to explain away Flynn being eaten alive in the shithole known as Oakland as well. It's a circle of life thing that will really complete the JR/Flynn story.

I wish Flynn all the best, but I see things ending badly for him there as well. And the Raiders are a MUCH better organization today than they were in 2007, and Flynn will still likely go down in flames on the Hindenburg that is the Raiders franchise.

The Raiders had been one of the worst run organizations in the league for several years before JR was drafted. After going to the SB in 2002, the Raiders won 4, 5, 4, and 2 games in the seasons leading up to drafting JR. They were a fricking joke, and then they jumped the shark like never before by hiring Lane fricking Kiffin a couple of months before drafting JR.

That led to a bitter and public feud with Al Davis because apparently Kiffin never wanted to draft JR and resented Davis not letting him control the draft room, which caused Davis and Kiffin to be in a virtual war throughout his first year and a half in the league until Davis fired Kiffin less than a month into his second season. The entire situation was a time bomb waiting to explode.

JR had the extended holdout, which was his decision, into the regular season missing all of training camp and preseason, capped off by being rewarded with the largest rookie contract in NFL history, and you just had to know that the intangibles around the situation were all wrong.

Now, does any of that excuse his lack of motivation and weight gain? Of course not, but had JR ended up in another organization, there is no telling how things could have gone.

It's great to see one of the all time Tiger greats trying to rewrite his legacy. I have no idea if he'll get a shot or not, but I am very happy that he is at least trying to change his life.

Side note, seeing Michael Clayton training JR in that video made me happy and kind of sad at the same time. Another one of my favorite Tigers of all time, he seemed to be a guy that squandered his potential as well after a fantastic rookie season.

Hoping for the best for JR.

His dominance in that 2006 Sugar Bowl really was the moment LSU became respected as one of the top 2 or 3 programs in the country IMO. For that, and all the great wins he was a part of in 04, 05, and 06, he'll always be one of my favorites.
