And House’s dumb arse ran him off. Since then our defensive recruiting has sucked.

The first priority for hiring the new defensive staff needs to be getting elite recruiters.

Cain was an elite coach and recruiter. House, Steeples, and Cooks are all very below average coaches and recruiters.

I just don't understand how we have such a strong offensive staff and such an incredibly weak defensive staff.

It seems to me that House didn’t want to be outshined by one of his subordinates. Coaches who suck don’t usually like having their underlings outperform them due to ego.

Because supposedly Matt House didn’t get along with him. There are plenty of local media sources who have said House ran Cain off, and that’s also why it’s unlikely he will return to LSU.

Many don’t want to hear it, but this is on Brian Kelly.

Ultimately it’s all on Kelly, which is why he’d better fix it immediately.

Based off what? Our top safety commit has Sloan as his primary recruiter

Couldn't agree more. This off season is arguably the most important off season in lsu history and will define Brian Kelly's tenure here.

Wrong. This is on coach O for leaving the program in such a bad place.

You’re full of shite, or just a straight dumbass if you actually believe this in 2023.

Cain being good at his job only helps the perception that House is doing his well too. So I don't think he'd sabatoge himself into putting out a worse product intentionally.

More likely that House is just incredibly inept and generally oblivious and didn't realize what he had in Cain and thought he could do better.

Coach O left us with 38 scholarship players or something. The cupboard was bare, mother fricker. Didn't you know?

Maybe so, either way it’s his ego thinking he’s better than he is.

Two things can be true at the same time.

You think no other college team has ever “gotten” an assistant coach a job in the NFL?
