I've known Jake's family all of my life, his dad, dad's brother Bobby and I went to school together.
I've followed him through his dad for years, wishing nothing but the best for LSU and this kid.

Torch.....it seems like the Slaughter name was associated with La Tech football l back in the day. Is that correct? If do, is Jake related?

Yes his Grandfather and Dad played at Tech.

Grandfather played QB for Tech, then coached there for 10+ years after spending a few years in the NFL.
His uncle was once the Tech record holder for receiving yards.
And his dad also played football there, as a DB I believe.
His grandfather is also the loudest son of a gun you'll ever hear from the stands at a baseball game. You can hear that deep voice from a mile away. Great athletic family.
