Think he could have scored if he rounded third instead of sliding?? Ball looked late coming in..

he probably slid so Cain wouldn't automatically send him.





sorry, I just couldn't help myself. I really do love this team (even if they are shite on the bases)

Probably. He was sliding based on the initial overthrow but then Florida CF flubbed the ball and it bounced a couple of yards away. He was sliding before that flub even happened, but there was no way to anticipate that

Yeah, hard to know what's going on behind you.. He had time to slide, get up, fist pump, turnaround and find the ball, and then almost take off..

Good thing Cain was there.

I actually thought of that and wondered, because I'm absolutely ignorant on this stuff, if they have cues or a hot Word for slide or stand. It's easy on tv to assume Cain could have had him stand and turn the corner to then make the decision. But I don't know how that works.
