Translation: cookie monster has jacked up the offensive flow enough to the point where I'm washing my hands of it and giving the defense the help they probably need right now

I feel like they have really dropped the ball with this kid. He was willing to move positions because they needed him to but then never give him a chance to do anything.
1 target as a WR
1 carry as the FB/TE hybrid

no doubt...stop yanking this kids chain and let him play at his natural position. I get that he is a play maker but damn.

what are the pro prospects of an elite 220 lb H-back these days compared to elite safety?

I'm certain he feels very confident at this point that this staff knows how to use his talent.

Don't blame him one bit. Why would anyone with talent want to waste it by being a WR at LSU in this offense?

I wouldn't say dropped the ball. He's just a freshman. He's no worse now than if he had been moved around. They may have underutilized him at receiver, but it's also hard to say there with the lack of oline blocking.

He wouldn't have been able to do much at safety thus far either.

I'm sure this happens somewhat often. For many top HS players college is just something they "have to do" before going to the NFL (at least that's how they feel). So a top recruit telling a coach he wants to play X position because it's better for his career probably isn't THAT uncommon.

However, Ogeron shouldn't say that in an interview. It signals to everyone that he has no control over the team. Every time he opens his mouth he says something to undermine himself.

How about just saying: "We're going to move him back to safety. He's a great player and we think he can really help us out there with some guys a bit nicked up." PERIOD

It is truly pathetic that this stuff is happening.

Guice is 'hurt'
Key took the spring and summer off and ate Twinkies.
Stevens may want to kick FGs next.

How long until it is "he feels transferring to another program will be better for his career".
