I've watched LSU football for 60 years. We were mostly good before Saban, but not Natty good. Anyone who thinks Saban is not largely responsible for our championship run in the last 25 years is crazy. If you believe that, please account for the years before Saban from 1959 thru 1998...all without a Natty.

Saban's biggest contribution was keeping top in state talent home and made it cool to go to LSU.
Peyton, Eli, Marshall Faulk, Brock Berlin, Ed Reed, Warrick Dunn, Reggie Wayne, Bradshaw (maybe? not sure if LSU recruited or he only had offer from Tech). Talent was always there due to demographics, just couldn't keep them home.
