Not sure why a runner from 3rd there doesn't count

No runner can advance a base if there is runner interference. It didn't affect the runner on 3rd, but that's the rule. I don't like it either.
Only way the guy at 3rd could have scored is if he touched the plate before the interference occurred. Pretty sure that's how it works.

So if the runner was safe at first would the runner scoring from 3rd still go back and the runner at first just be called out?

I think the ruling is, at the moment of interference, 'time out' is called. All runners must return or said differently, no one advances.
If ESPN happens to show it again (ha), watch the umpire at 2nd...He raises his hands to call time out.
I think that is correct.

Guy at 1st would be called out, & guy on 3rd would have to go back to 3rd.
Runner interference screws you completely.

Slaughter better hope his buddies bail him out. Rough times ahead if they lose on this play. Bottom line. Don't cheat!

He would not even be in the dugout... His dumb arse would be in the shower or calling for a ride home

You can't admit that was freaking high school move... In the world series

I agree with your interpretation, but this rule is entirely too harsh. Two outs and loss of run is literally the harshest penalty I can think of, definitely in baseball, but in any other sport either.
What would happen if the runner slid into 3rd at the start of a 6-5-4-3 triple play. Is everybody out?

I've never seen that happen, but based on the rule...I would assume so.
Runner interference dicks you in every possible way.

Yeah, I was really thinking of just a 6-5-4, wondering how far down the line the chain of assumptions would follow. Or a 6-5-3 (assuming runners starting 1st & 2nd). What happens to the middle guy? Shitty situation.

If the guy sliding into 3rd gets called for interference...Pretty sure everyone is assumed out(due to all bases being a force play) as long as they didn't reach the bag before the interference occurred.
Guy at 3rd, 2nd, & 1st would be called out I think.

Yet the runner at first is still out. Dumb

Yet you never see catcher blocking home plate called...just don't think the timing was right on making the call
