If we go with your line of thinking here; CLM was high dollar and considered above average. So do the Tigers end up with a better win record for 2016?

Despite Canada and Aranda, when you go cheap and average at Offensive Line Coach, expect average at best results.

We don't have the OL to go 11-1 currently. Maybe Deculus and Stewart will show something in Fall camp and bump it up to a competent level.

Bama recruits OL's that come in and start as true freshmen. That's what needs to start happening here, or we'll never get to where we want to be.

I look at the roster and just shake my head at the OL. Overall, not LSU/SEC quality. Still don't have a competent backup Center. We're in big trouble if Clapp goes down. That would be a disaster. (And it could very well happen with him coming off the injury)

Yea I'm expecting 8-4, and I am normally over-expecting.

O-line is my biggest concern. We won't be able to play the same type of game we have managed to win games with without a good one.

I am cautiously optimistic our offense will show signs of life in the passing game this year setting up for some fun football in the future, but I was more confident Harris would prove himself last year

I am excited for the season though to see what Canada does. If aranda continues as he has, and Canada can become an offensive Canada or somewhere close to, it's on!!

a loss to Bama. Think they lose two

I hate 'em ... really I do, and I love the enthusiasm that we win 11 games (personally I say 10 at most for us this year) but there is NO. F'N. WAY. Bama drops two games this year!

Either way, I'm ready

The coaching staff is not cheap at some point it seems that true tiger fans would quit saying shite like this and get behind our head coach. Compare this to the agenda of the major news networks tryi g to bring down the president with fake news. Pittiful

No, the staff isn't cheap. Yes, they are good, really good.

I among others am just tired of hearing how "this is our year" at the beginning of every season, only to finish with 4 losses. Until I'm shown otherwise, I'll be expecting about 4 losses.

I used to expect championships. Since 1/9/12 those expectations are gone until there's something more than just hype shown through a season.

Until then, I see have to see 9-3 as a success and will try to force myself to be content with it.

Keep the faith tiger fan. Nick saban has dominated football and will some more. I think we will be very competitve and play hard with a new attitude with our coach. I am optimistic

That's a curious statement. Grimes was considered an exceptional OL coach when he was hired. This past season LSU's OL was rated as the best in CFB.
From his time at Auburn:
quote:

During Auburn's 2010 national championship season, Grimes' coached an offensive line that helped set school records for total yards of offense (6,989) and points (577) for a second consecutive season. The Tigers led the Southeastern Conference and were No. 5 nationally in rushing yards per game (284.8) and led the SEC in scoring (41.2).

I agree his results here have been a mixed bag. Is that due to Miles forcing him to play OL out of their natural position (guards playing OT) or was it a predictable offensive scheme? IDK. This season will be interesting to see. It will give us a good barometer on Grimes' ability.

I agree, will be tremendously difficult to defeat Alabama in Tuscaloosa considering we haven't defeated them there since 2011 and submitted rather pitiful performances the subsequent 2 contests there. It's custom, Alabama obviously always reloads like we do so they'll probably defeat us.

You really think you will be favored in Gainesville? Maybe. Time will tell.

I'm going to guess that Florida will be favored by 3, as they should be, if they manage to get to the LSU game with 1 loss or less.
I will take the free money too.

I'm sure no one said LSU would go 13-0 in 2011 either especially with the quarterbacks on the roster that year

I think 8-4 and going .500 in the SEC is about the bar.
9-3 would be an overachieving season.
10-2 would be a great season and likely NY6 bowl.
11-1 means everything went right and we're in the playoff.
