Governor Scott has more important things to worry about right now than where a fricking football game is played. Florida's administration should be expected to be level headed grown ups about this.

Way to use a natural disaster in another state to boost your profile, Senator.

Dumbass letter, but what can you expect from lame duck David "The Shitter" Vitter?

Why? His points (besides C'mon Man) are sound

It was a joke about Vitter being terrible. Not so much an assessment of his argument.

I don't mind him writing a letter to Gov Scott politely and professionally asking him to consider intervening; however, the way Vitter ended the letter with the reference to the ESPN program "C'Mon Man" was neither polite nor professional. It almost makes me think this letter is not really from Vitter.

It's not really about a football game as much as the complications from the people and resources needed for the game in the midst of evacuations and even dangerous conditions.

The LAST thing I want is "Diaper" Dave Vitter reminding the world that he represents the State of Louisiana.
I wish he would just keep his mouth shut until such time as his term comes to a merciful end.
He adds nothing to this issue except embarrassment.

I wouldn't expect anything else from our great senator.

Also, do you think the Governor was concerning himself with potential sporting events that could be played.

Let's see, including fans, staff and workers, how many people do you think will be occupying a couple of square miles in Gainesville for the game? 100k? Considering the potential danger involved I'd think that's a pretty important thing.

I would think Governor Scott figured the games would automatically be cancelled when he announced the closure of all state facilities (which includes UF's facilities).

We all would think that but it hasn't happened yet, so the letter is highlighting that.

Uggggh. Our fanbase is so nearsighted. While this is a "professional" letter, you have no idea about the personal relationship of these two long time career republicans. The two of them may have had a conversation one time about an ESPN segment on it. These guys actually do have other conversations not dealing with politics or legislation.

There is a much bigger likelihood that that comment was tongue in cheek, and taken that way by Scott, than it was that he gaffed writing the letter, or that some kid wrote it.

Until he's replaced by another republican that you hate.

Can't wait to see your melt towards John Fleming as the pick to do just that in an all republican runoff.

So you're stupid enough to not know that Larry Flynt fabricated that smear?

I'm so tired of people from LA acting like we are the only ones who have experience preparing for hurricanes. And to use Katrina as an example of Louisiana's preparedness??

What the hell was that last paragraph? Did they let some 17 year old high school student win some "write a paragraph to a governor for a day" contest?

Maybe Luke let the intern write this one. It happens...

If it was a letter with an unprofessional phrase that referenced an inside joke between the two of them it should not have been made public. Look, it's not a huge deal, but I think you would agree the letter does not look "senatorial" and should have either been kept private or re-written.
