It's astonishing reading posts here about last night game, which was an ugly, unimpressive 22 point win, and it's woes, especially when it comes to passing the football. I've read numerous reports about we only have a deep passing attack, that we don't throw slants, bubble screens, outs, crossing routesetc, and see so many rantards co signing it. Newsflash people, we have, and we continue too. The majority of Harris completions have probably come off of bubble screens and slants. We run them all the time. Do we always throw the slant, or the crossing route, no. Why? Probably because they either aren't open or Harris see's a receiver breaking deep and takes the shot. Do you guys not realize Cam's offense is based off a power rushing attack complimented by vertical passing? Do you guys not realize that our rushing attack forces team to show a 1 high safety look and run lots of cover 1 or cover 3, in order to stop the run, which gives our WR's one on one opportunities on the outside to which our coaches trust them to win the match up, and gain big chunks of yardage?

That's our gameplan. Pound pound pound away, then take the top off with the great athletes we have on the outside. We take advantage of what is given to us. If we line up in a slot formation and a safety doesn't walk down or linebacker doesn't walk out to cover up the slot, we throw the bubble screen. If a linebacker walks out to cover the slot, we pound away with LF7. Or if the corner is off the X or Z receiver, we throw a quick screen to give him a chance to make a play in space. That's the offense. It's not flashy. It's not gonna put up big numbers in a gaudy, in your face way. It's gonna quietly give you 350 or more yards, while chewing clock and breaking the will of the opponent. It's going to give the players the best opportunity to make a play. Which brings me to my next point

Our wide outs haven't forgotten how to catch over night. They just have to refocus and get more physical. One of the main things hurting them so far is taking their eyes off the ball and looking downfield before securing the catch. No doubt in my mind this week, the coaching staff will drill into their heads once again the concept of catch first, run second. Playing an opponent like EMU, at home, in a game plan that was geared towards a focus on passing, each wide receiver was looking to make a big play. Each wanted to make that highlight reel play. Young guys, and with all the LF7 hype, they want to be on a sports center top 10 play as well. It happens. Their hands didn't all of a sudden go to shite. Their focus on the fundamentals did. And that's something that happens to a lot of receivers on every level. You go throw a stretch where you have a slump, and you have to refocus on the basics.

Trust me, this team will be back, firing on all cylinders come Saturday against S.Car

Just the 18-22 year old crowd crying and bitching when they should be studying.

We do have slant routes in the passing scheme. We run slant/chute combos.
