I mean, wasn’t the hope to get someone outside of Mainieri’s grasp? I don’t want anyone associated with Mainieri taking the reins.

Heard Jumbo(aka Ronnie Rantz) say on Hanny's show a week or so ago that he thought Godwin was the odds on favorite to land the gig with O'Sullivan and Scholssnagle being the other two main interests on LSU's part. We shall see.

Godwin’s hometown is 30min from ECU and he played there. Other big schools have pursued him in the past. Could be about more than school name and money.

There’s a guy on one of the National boards claiming that he has two kids committed to UF (coaches HS) and that O’Sullivan is a done deal fo LSU. Obviously TIFWIW but I stopped by to see what the thoughts were here on your vacancy and figured I would add to the rumor mill.
O’Sullivan or Godwin would be great choices, though O’Sullivan rubs me the wrong way personally he’s a great coach.

Godwin hasn’t done anything special in 7 years at ECU. He’s made it to 2 super regionals. Wow. This is a very underwhelming hire if true.

Paul was a very good coach at one time.
It doesn't matter who gets picked. The retarded base is going to melt because their guy didn't get picked, and many will hope we lose in the future to get rid of the new coach.
