Look. It's not a big splash, but it might be just what we need. This team has talent. We don't need someone to overhaul the defense. If he is keeping the principles the same, etc that is good for this team. We don't want to waste a year of LF on a transitioning defense. Also, think the recruiting impact will be very positive. It's about the players at the end of the day.

Everyone outside of our fanbase seems to think it is a very good hire.

It was a hire based on the availability of funds. I believe that all the other 'interviews' were just to pad the coaching search/interview numbers. So in the end, maybe the LSU staff looks at it and feels justified that they 'reached out' or 'interviewed' so many possible hires but in the end, this was the right man for the job. I want to think that this is the right guy but I'm unsure and will wait it out.

no its not. The team cant score under Miles, now we will not be able to stop anyone from scoring as well

no its not. The sooner you and more importantly the LSU administration realize its about coaching, the quicker we can move past Miles and forward as a football program

Is Meyer the difference at Ohio State or is he simply riding the wave of a talented group of players?

First off, he is the head coach. This isn't a thread about head coaches. Second off, the reason he is riding a talented group of players is because he recruited a talented group of players. It's the players on the field that matter.

TBH I don't think Miles want an up & comer to take the job. He wanted someone older that will be ok with just being the DC for a while. I don't agree with the hire but after thinking about it I can see why Miles made it. I think he feels Steele will bring stability to the position and he won't have to go through this process again in a year or so.

Overall I don't think a program like LSU should be reaching out to a position coach with a shakey resume to be their DC. I would have rather them take a shot on an established DC.

It's a disastrous pick. Also, who's to say he doesn't try some overhaul? What a Shitty hire.

Disagree. Nobody wanted this guy as a DC. Defense will fall off now. Bye miles.

"going from the chief to kevin steele? that's like going from a 2014 Mercedes to a 2006 Ford Focus with transmission problems."
