agreed its a strange turn of events

the way i see it is maybe this:

i think the agreement was he gets to coach the rest of the year at full pay and then gets a partial buyout as agreed

this is so he can try to save his reputation and his W/L record enough to find another job somewhere

i can see his narcistic arse thinking this is his best way out and he can use his time left to show he should get another job somewhere

i see no other reason to let him stay here the rest of the season, it cant help LSU in any way to have him stay here so it has to be to help him and was the key for him to walk away

I don't understand keeping him around. Seems like a mistake.

Didn't know the right answer till I read this...

quote:

So when we curb stomp the Rebs this weekend, beat Arky and A&M we don’t get forced to keep O

And much better now. Its puts a thought in a lot of coaches head early in the process not late AF when the top coaches are flying off the shelf.

You think we have an AD that is actively tanking our season?

1) The Kentucky loss was the final straw.

2) There are incentives like a no-compete clause, going quietly, Title IX implications, etc. in order to earn the buyout. Ed agreed.

3) Woodward finally has his man.

4) Woodward didn't want a Miles repeat by Ed winning games and the hearts of the fan base.

All that made the timing sooner rather than later.

Well for one thing it's bad optics and what is this talk about a toxic work environment, the players not wanting to play for him, the coaches not wanting to work for him.

Cmon bro. Don’t ask ?’s u know the answer to. For one he’s protecting recruiting as best he can. No back and forth is he back or isn’t he. Early signing period changes things. Scott sees that. No chance to cause another controversy Bec Our tigers win out in some crazy way. Now recruits know. And the serious ones will wait and see. I want Lane O Brian rhule if he doesn’t like the nfl. Franklin won at vandy. And he’s been solid at penn st. But I don’t see him as a hungry recruiter and we need that with all the premier recruiter and offensive minds all around our state. He also struggles n key games when a lot is on the line, prime time. Idk I wasn’t sure at first but more and more I believe Lane can build a monster. He’s unfairly criticized. Imagine his offensive mind w la talent. If we want to overtake Saban I firmly believe that lane is the one when he can match the horses.

Why not just let him go then? Why keep him around for the rest of the year?

They aren't confident in the interim choices. Ed is either a dumbass or genius because he either subconsciously or unconsciously only hired guys with no head coaching or coordinating experience at the FBS level.

Perhaps it is a courtesy to a national championship winning coach

A little respect is deserved.

What he does best as a coach is interim coaching. Why not have him interim for himself? Brilliant.

But, especially if that string includes bama, wouldn’t there be a legit argument?
