The catcher is moving the ball back 2 feet and he still calls it a strike.

How does a conference that is at or near the top in every single sport have the worst officiating crews

Judging by the Zebra behind the plate tonight you just have to be bias and blind Homer.

Most college umps are the ones who went through the minor leagues and either quit after a few seasons or got canned. Only 2% of umpires who make it to the minors out of umpire school make it to the major leagues so there are a lot of guys to choose from. Generally in the power 5 conferences you are getting guys that got up to AA or better.

So it's actually super hard and very selective to umpire division 1, power 5 baseball. It just isn't as easy as it looks fellas

The balls and strikes were horrible. The low ball for a strike worked well for Ark. I really never recall seeing LSU try to take advantage of it. I thought the Ark batter with the late home run looked at a couple of strikes that would have otherwise had him sitting down with any other ump. But it is a part of this game. Some have suggested having a computer monitor call balls and strikes. Last night, I would have voted for the computer.

I'm at the point in my life where when I follow sports like basketball and baseball, where regular season losses aren't a huge deal if you make the post season, just ignoring the regular season. The SEC is so corrupt that they make these sports unwatchable.

With the playoffs in football, that is a relief now too. Our seasons won't hinge (potentially) on corrupt football officiating.

Undocumented aliens can apply and get priority plus a bonus check. English not required; just hand signals.

Everyone rags on umpires but nobody steps up to do it. I know a few guys who call D1 games and a couple of them had done AAA ball. They all love the game and aren’t doing it for the money because the shite they have to put up with sure isn’t worth it. The travel for minor league umps drove them back to college games once they had families.

I couldn’t do it. I’d have half the coaches in the showers by the 3 inning!
