It it Ricky "Gene" or Ricky "Jean" as in the French Jean?

I was saying it French for a long time, then I started hearing announcers pronouncing it as "Gene", now I'm hearing both. Even from Baton Rouge media. So which is it? I lean toward Jean in the true French pronunciation.

Jean(french) according to him...they were talking about it 2 weeks ago on 98.1

Your question should have been, is it "Gene-Francois" or "Jean-Francois", the latter being correct. Its on his jersey ya know...
