Like the election, it's over. I think the process wreaked of cheap, lazy, Louisiana politics. If it fails, the brand takes another damaging blow. Lets hope that doesn't happen.

The approach is the polar opposite of Saban. For the most part, Saban is responsible for his assistants success. LSU is hoping the assistants make the head coach successful. Interesting.

If CEO can get Lane Kiffin to come over as OC, QB coach, that is a positive. He is one hell of a QB coach and play caller. He had Saban whipped when he was at Tennessee.

If we keep Aranda for a few more years, that is huge. Though a new coach could have done this, too.

Orgeron can recruit. If he can recruit for need and with a plan, that will be an improvement over Miles.

If Alleva can take some of that money and do something with the basketball program, I can forgive and forget.

Low risk hire. Makes the Cajuns happy and doesn't cost much. If he fails you fire him in 2 years and it doesn't cost much. He leaves the next coach with a boat of talent.

Silver lining: We never have to worry about the NFL poaching him, or him coming back as coach at a rival program.
