It is one thing to be critical of a coach but what drives the irrational hate?

Some of the things people are posting is not criticism it's hate and vitriol.
Can some in help me understand the hateful comments?
I'm sure I'll be met with butt hurt and self loathing wrist slitting though.

It is hate in your opinion because you are in denial. You've been titrated into mediocrity and don't recognize that it. No one hates Les, he's a good man.

Because we want LSU to be the best and our current administration and coaching staff are fine with getting a participation trophy. We were LSU before them and we'll be LSU after them. They're just passing through.

Because their self worth is driven through success of football.
Same people wont wear an lsu shirt after a loss because they are embarrassed on how it makes them look.
Its whyunless the basketball team is great they wont go support that team because they lose too much so they cheer for another program like duke in basketball.
Sports makes them and cant compartmentalize

kind of a straw man there considering lots of people are pointing out valid points...irrational hate? really? I would call it frustration with horrible coaching/decision making not irrational hate.

I think the OP is questioning what I see as well, this intense and often irrational "hatred" of the guy and/or his record. It just seems so over the top often times.
Regardless, here we are. I hope the fan base can rally behind him and I hope Les has gotten his first really big scare and will see he's got to adjust. I think he's got it in him, if not he won't last.
