Miles is a former OL so he wants to run every time...so no he is not an offensive mind...combine that with an oc that wants to pass every down and you have chaos

Chizik was defensive coordinator at Texas when their defense wasn't that great, then Head Coach at Iowa State and only won like 2 games in 4 years or something. How he got the Auburn job really baffles my mind, but to answer your question, yes... his background is defense.

Chizik was the defensive coordinator under Tubby when they went undefeated. Petrino was the OC I think that year.

They won a national championship with his defense. He was at Auburn the year before when Auburn was undefeated, so Chizik's defenses went 2 full years without a loss.
