Is West Virginia's full court press the best we will see?

Will we face another full court press that good in sec play? Sure, we didn't look great against it but if that is the best we will fface this year, I think they can learn from it.

I'd imagine Arkansas is the only other team who would press us that much in a game.

I was thinking either them or kentucky. Teams will test us after seeing last night's tape for sure.

We can learn from it, but WVU got away with a lot tonight with their press. Not crying about officiating in a game we won, but they won't be so lucky in the future if that's the only way they can be effective with their press. IMHO, a typical Huggins-coached team.

It'll be Kentucky, but I watched WVU play UCONN...let's just say this win really offset our poor performances in the Virgin Islands

If I recall, they were #1 in the nation in steals and some other defensive stat. So, I don't think we'll see much better.

I thought we did much better in the 2nd half. Got the ball to Martin in the middle after the initial inbound pass instead of Gray trying to dribble his way through traffic.

Arkansas likes to press. Other than that, not sure will see anything like last night.

After what Iowa State did to Arky last night I can't imagine their press is great. However, we only play them once and it's at Arky last regular season game of the year

I dont think anybodys will be as good at it as WVU was cause they were pretty damn relentless but you can bet other teams will certainly try it after seeing LSU turn it over 24 times.

The key is good spacing and passing to break the press...someone is always uncovered when they bring a trap. But the spacing has to be good to get the ball to the open guy otherwise it gets stolen. Also you cant just have everyone run down court and leave it up to gray to dribble his way through the press. Only guard ive ever seen single handedly break a press all game long was Chris Jackson against LMU.

UConn is probably going to be pretty down this year for their standards.

I'm sure if Kentucky wanted to full court press us hard with their NBA team it would be tough to beat

As always they are a different beast in bud walton

We will see tough half court teams in the league, hopefully robinson can be good for a few points and boards by then
