Is this the youngest LSU football team to start a season opener?

According to The Advocate, LSU's starting more freshmen in this season opener than in anytime in its history, but does that make them the youngest overall?

Also a bit of good karma for LSU if anyone believes in such things, buddy who predicts LSU's wins consistently year after year says LSU loses only one game this season. He's betting $100 on the Tigers this year.

People overplay that shite. Freshman contribute big EVER YEAR.

Devin White, Rashard Lawrence, Dee Anderson and Ed Alexander last class

Arden Key, Guice, Kevin Toliver, Maea, Donte, Weathersby and Moreau the year befor

Fournette, Jamal, Dupree, Brandon Harris, Godchaux and Clapp the year before

We have a stud starting 22 then we're green, talented, but green.

We've got veterans at most on the big positions. Sr QB starting Wrs, LT. Starting juniors at both CBs, running back, and pass rusher. 2 seniors on the DL. It's pretty veteran when you think about it.

I'm just ready for Saturday so all the doubters fade out. Of course they will be back come SEC play. This team will be fine. No I don't think they can beat anyone and everyone but they are a strong team and I believe this years preparation will prove to be superior to years prior for many reasons.

The offense isn't about 4 or 5 players anymore and the defense will get better and better as the season progresses. I think we have plenty of veterans on this team to be dominant. Here's the deal though, if we are this good in 2017 then 18 should get even better and so on. As long as we can keep top of the line coordinators, like any team should, then LSU will be just fine. I'm ready for some real football.

Well, if not for any other reason, we'll have a stud at QB with a full year of learning, practicing and playing in Canada's offense. That will be huge. Talent at QB and a great offensive coordinator? It's the LSU dream scenario.

We don't know what to expect out of him yet. It's not a given that he's going to be a top 5 national QB as a RS freshman. We lose a ton next year. A Heisman candidate RB, 2 starters on DL, top 2 receivers, top 2 corners, 2/3 starting DL, 2/4 starting linebackers, a QB, etc.

Point is, I dont see how we return 9-10 starters total and are automatically better.
