Typical perspective from a national guy sitting in NY or somewhere far away. Google LSU Football and look at records and numbers. What he didn't address was LSU record since 1/9/12.

Since then 2nd tier programs like Ole Miss, Auburn, Miss St, and A&M have been on a particular with us. That is why the change needs to be made.

good grief. one bad decade and everyone acts like we've been mediocre throughout our entire history.

cfbdatawarehouse rankings from 1869 - 2000

it's arguable if we were an all-time top ten team before saban. everyone's metrics vary. it's not arguable whether we were an all-time top15 team. we weren't elite, but we were a solid program.

frick all the haters!

Not true, the likes of Miami and even Florida are not up to speed in facilities. I'm sure there are others.

And neither was LSU until recently and still an ongoing process with nutrition center and what not.

Sure LSU pumped money in 16 years ago, but so did a lot of programs during that time.

"miles won at least a share of 3 SEC titles"

Do what? There is no sharing SEC titles. Miles won one SEC title in the first 3 years and one in the last 8 years.

"From 2000-2016 is the best LSU has ever been"

Actually, from 2000-2007 was the best LSU has ever been. 2008-2016 has been a roller coaster full of perpetual problems that Les proved incapable of fixing.

Dodd stirring the pot to be relevant !!
Well ask Dodd this if Lsu has peaked and this being the reason Mile and Lsu has faulted to our high expectations Please explain this to the 2nd most talented team in America .... recognized by his peers the whole offseason . Please tweet these kids Dodd and let them know that the reason they can't win is nothing more than we had our time and we should all be happy with the pass wins and praise Mile for what we have . No way with the talent we have should we expect to unpeak!!! What a freaking tool!!

Money talks and LSU is now a top ten fund raising program. This will keep the program winning at least at the same clip as Les has in the past 4 years. Teams that have struggled with coaching transitions made questionable hires like Miami, Tennessee and Michigan. But if LSU spends the money to hire the best possible coach on the radar they will get the results... Hell Coach O may get the results. Miles wasn't only stale, but wasn't competitive in the west since 2012. If you're not improving your losing ground and it's obvious Les was losing ground.

False Dodd, LSU won 5 straight over Bama from 2003 to 2007.

What he doesn't understand, is that not only does LSU have the money, facilities, and fanbase of a powerhouse, Louisiana recruits seems vastly underrated to his dumbass. The reason why LSU wasn't winning in those times was partly because we were losing our best recruits to other schools (Miami and FSU for example).

LSU is also willing to spend top dollar for its football staff as well. I wouldn't be shocked if every single LSU position coach and coordinator was in the top 5 for their positions.

With LSU by it's lonesome in Louisiana, Texas right next door, and some talent across the street in the Mississippi Gulf area, LSU is sitting in prime position to build a powerhouse.

By 2018, Herman would have LSU as a top 5 team. The talent on this team and in this state is just ridiculous, especially if you're an offensive guy. Does anybody realize how many Louisiana WRs are on Power 5 teams?

You thought LSU was good before, wait til they get an offensive minded guy. Wait til they get a competent gameday coach. Wait til they have an offense that doesn't put pressure on the defense 24/7.

LSU is a sleeping giant.

And this is where I see he doesn't even understand what he is saying is actually going against him.

quote:

Only Steve Spurrier, Phil Fulmer and Bear Bryant (12) have more consecutive eight-win seasons among SEC coaches than Miles (11). Only Boise State (17) has more consecutive eight-win seasons than LSU (16).

Those aren't just numbers. They represent a standard.

This is where he should realize just how good LSU is. Anyone that has watched Miles realizes that he almost never has a passing game, is the worst at clock management, refusing to step into modern offense, his players show a consistent lack of discipline (I.e. pre snap penalties for one) and fundamentals, and is an all around poor gameday coach. Now we find out that he over works his players in practice, meaning less film study and he puts a muzzle on his assistants (Cam, I'm looking at you mostly).

If THIS man could consistently win at least 8 games a year for 11 years at LSU, what in the hell do you think a competent HC could do? My God it's not rocket science.

Again, Miles was an extremely flawed coach and won at least 8 a year at LSU.

If you notice only non football ppl say this. Every coach and player has said we are a top 5 program. Not even gonna list the reasons why if you doubt it you're just wrong.

Les Miles peaked and that's one of the reasons he's gone. LSU didn't peak.

True. People forget how mediocre LSU was before the 21st century. Shreveport/Louisiana routinely had kids choose out of state schools. Hopefully, LSU can pick up a coach that can continue to build on what the program has going. Georgia got rid of Mark Richt......he is undefeated at Miami. While Georgia is getting shellacked by ole miss and nearly lost to nicholls state. Be careful what you wish for.
