Not true. Besides the haters say that is all we run. So if that is true, it works. I love how people bitch about that play but saw uga run it with cubbs. With success.

Of LF7 27 carries 19 were handoffs for 123 yds. 6.47 ypc. 8 were toss dives for 17 yds. 2.125 ypc. I can't stand the toss dive.

i'm not watching a 30 second commercial to see a 7 second run.

The toss play gets the rb the ball quicker. The entire point of the play is to get the ball in the rb's hands quicker so he has the ability to make those decisions.

I don't really believe it makes that big of a difference.

WHen you get the ball tossed to you, you have to keep your eyes on the ball the whole time, and there's the potential to throw it bad or drop it.
WHen you get the ball handed to you, you open your arms, keep your eyes up, and wait for the qb to stick it in your gut.

The reason i don't like this play is b/c it immediately says we are running and does nothing to set up play action. You can't run play action out of this play, so safeties and linebackers see Jennings turn to toss it and they immediately charge the line.

You can throw a ball faster than you can run it to someone. So the QB can toss it to a RB running in the direction of the without making the QB and the RB get to the same spot.

It works fine. People forget its still a dive which means it will have the same success rate as any run directly up the middle. Which in general it does.

Regardless of our chosen method of delivering the ball to the running back, I think having Collins stonewall two defenders and seal the entire backside by himself is a strategy we should continue to employ.
