The Gold "Never worn by LSU" jersey pictured at the top of the thread looks better than the ones the team actually wore.
Correct. The DiNardo Golds (Vandy at home/Notre Dame in the Indy Bowl) DIDN'T have shoulder stripes and the numerals were white with a purple outline. Didn't the Golds we wore at Florida have purple numerals with a white shadow outline? Anybody have a pic from that Florida road game in question?
If LSU ever decides to wear an alternate uniform for some ridiculous reason, I'd prefer this "Never Worn" gold jersey with the shoulder stripes and purple numerals to be worn with the white helmets and pants. It's the lesser of two evils and much better than than the shite we wore at Tulane last year........

Yes. The original Dinardo gold (vandy game) had white numbers which were impossible to read. They second gold jersey (indy bowl) had white numbers w/ purple outline which made it easier to read but still difficult. LSU changed the gold jersey for the 98 UF game to have purple numbers. (can't find a pic)

I realize the jersey is different. I wouldn't expect us to have the same white jersey from 1958, so I don't expect us to have the same gold jersey from 1997.
You were acting like it was an abhoration to wear gold. I personally disagree. I like gold. I prefer gold to purple. I wish we would wear gold more often. I think the new jersey that was posted is cool and I wish we would wear it.
There is a precedent for wearing gold and you know this to be the case.

Don't get the hatred for gold. It is a team color. IMO, I'd rather wear yellow/gold over purple anyday.

I wasn't trying to be contentious at all. Again, I was just pointing out that we had in fact worn gold jerseys in the past. A lot of people may not have known that.

I wear my purple #5 LSU jersey every gameday and my white #26 Saints jersey every Sunday gameday. White trash? Don't think so, especially considering my Saints jersey is authentic and cost like $200. But hey, to each his own. If you want to wear you jorts and cut off tee shirt, go ahead. I won't hate on you.

If I need fashion advice from you on what to wear I'll ask. Otherwise STFU.
