I have come to hate Arky much more than Bama. I respected (and still respect) Bama. They have proven they can throw down with us. Arkansas (or maybe just their fans) are delusional little shite-talking bitches. As this week has wore on, I want to beat them by 60. I want them to know they are a second tier SEC team that had no place on the field today.

You'd have to care about them to hate them.

No. Arky has been insignificant for too long. Have to win something before it's on the same level.

Not hate at all. Annoyance. Very much like your little brother constantly coming into your room and bothering you while you are doing important stuff. Favorite one is for them to call LSU fans "hogsessed" when they are losing an argument (often). That is like telling me I am obsessed with my little brothers Hot Wheels collection while I am driving a brand new Mustang GT.

Would have a lot more respect for them if they would simply win something, anything in CFB.

Bama is a tier 1 team. They've earned a right to talk trash.

Arky is going through a transition from tier 3 to tier 2. Problem is they want to be respected as a tier 1. Their fans are struggling with this transition, having to play in the west with 3 tier 1's.

This. I hate the Gumps but they have earned the right on the field to talk smack. Arky has earned nothing in the SEC but demands (actually - desperately craves) respect. Pathetic actually because they have a very solid football program. Just need to translate it into some big time wins in BCS bowl games.

I'd much rather hang out in Tuscaloosa than Fayetteville fwiw. I know some cool Arkansas people but even they admit many of their fans arent too cool. Bama fans in general are good people.

Ark. is hard to hate. Hasn't reached top tear yet. Living in Bama makes them easy to hate because they are so obnoxious.

Now this made me laugh, so you've been getting beat a bunch by a tier 3 team? Boy what does that say about you guys? Bottom line, yes your elite and yes we've beaten you guys 3 out of the last 4. I think you want so bad for us to not get there that you have to discredit our play on the field against you!

Arky fans wouldn't be so bad if they had any logical argument to bring to the table when talking about the game.

"LSU is overrated"
"#1 ranking is bogus"
"We won 3 of the last 4"

nothing ever remotely relevant to this years game. Mostly inbreds who beat each other off while staring at a picture of Coach BP and Tyler Wilson sword fighting.

Texas Tech beat OU this year, does that make them elite?

I love to hate Bama and don't really care about Arky (if that makes sense.

Cajunjj I am actually looking at buying a house in Madison next weekend if things panout in Huntsville.

Nah...our hate for Bama is legendary- the gumps have always had a sense of entitlement. Arky fans are just excited because they have their first chance at something big in over 45 years (when we beat them in the Cotton Bowl). I just hope we are able to crush them today & bring them back down to earth again...

My neighborhood in Denver does a beer festival every summer. Fun, sunny, afternoon drinking, very laid back.

You run into all kinds of SEC fans. I always have an LSU hat on. Last year I talked trash with a UGA fan, a Tennessee fan, Bama, Florida. All good-natured, "you suck, but good luck this season" stuff. I watch games with a lot of these guys.

I saw a big dude wearing a Hogs hat with the "SEC" logo on the side. I said to him, "shouldn't that logo say SWC?" just kidding around.

The guy looked at me like he wanted to kill me. I told him "easy, just messin' with you, good luck this season" and walked on by.

A few minutes later, I'm sitting in the grass with friends, eating BBQ, talking, good band playing. I look over and about ten feet away, the Arky dude is staring me down like he wants to rip my head off. His wife is in his face, obviously trying to diffuse the situation, telling him to calm down. I was shocked that the guy had followed me to our spot. They eventually walked away.

To me, this is the difference. They don't get respect because they don't want respect. They want to get all upset and fight because they've never learned to conduct themselves the way typical SEC fans do. And I'm not talking about hot-headed kids here, I'm talking about middle-aged suburbanites for heaven's sake.

I'd like to say that the encounter with that Arkansas guy was an isolated incident, but I've seen it many times before.

They're whiny, self-conscious, and very defensive like OU fans, but without all of the historical success.
